So it cost Bama 2.5 million to go the Prohm?

Not sure if serious.

Everyone already knows the answer the that question, you go to Duke, Kentucky, Carolina or Kansas.
Yes. So to convince them to take another route you need a dynamic personality who can draw that talent elsewhere. Calipari constantly referenced his NBA experience when he was recruiting stars to Memphis. Stars will follow the right coach just about anywhere if they think it is their best chance at professional ball.
For a 16 year old, Avery Johnson is a basketball celebrity. He would bring a wow factor to our program that no other coach could. Why not try it? All the coaches on our list have risk, but none have the upside of Avery Johnson.

Would Avery take the job? Does he want to deal with the grind that college coaches endure? I guess we might see...

If we are going to hire nba coaches, can we look at Mike Dantoni? The mofo can coach an offense.

Avery is the only one showing any interest in college.

If being a former HC in the NBA is all that is needed to get "5*" talent, go get the one with actual college experience, Tim Floyd.
Better act quick with a better job opening up soon.

Avery wanted the Texas job. So guess he will just keep going around until someone gives him a shot

"Tim Floyd"
First thing you've said in this thread that has made any sense. Would be a pretty solid hire.

Great coach and recruiter, but age and past NCAA issues would likely keep him off our list.

What the hell did I say about moncrief or drexler?
What is stupid is you bama fans looking to ex nba coaches as top candidates
Just when I thought the hilarity was over, you guys strike again

Fwiw, Dantoni was a fan favorite here in the Phoenix area for the open ASU job, he stated he would never take a college job, no desire to recruit.
