Hey guys. I don't post much on TD anymore, but check in with y'all every day .
About rounding out this staff ...
Why hasn't anyone thrown out Duane Akina's name? He obviously a terrific secondary coach (could benefit TRob), a couple a Thorpe's on his resume, a history with Will (don't know about whether they got along or not), and he's only at Stanford because Strong didn't retain him. Plus, he has nearly a decade and a half experience in recruiting Texas.
Unless Will just wants to divide up the DLine, pretty sure he's looking for another secondary coach. (I do think he'll continue coaching the LBs.) Surely Stanford can't match Cheese's nearly-half million salary.
Any opinions and/or knowledge on DA?

This brings up a good question. Do we know what Muschamp will be coaching? Safeties or Linebackers?

He didn't have another secondary coach at Florida, so why would he look for one here? Travaris Robinson is the DB coach and I really doubt he comes here if its under the notion that he's getting less responsibility (ie: going from coaching all DBs everywhere he has been to only coaching corners or safeties here).

I was told that Muschamp is likely coaching Linebackers. That means a second DL coach, because I doubt he's bringing in another DB coach.

Outside of the melt, I think he would be a great addition to this staff as well. Not sure why no one has hired him yet

Someone with a 247 account needs to post a Coach O to AU rumor and really make it good.

Per Bunker insider autigers07 AU will not make another hire til after the coaches convention which is this Sunday-Tuesday and we are now looking at mid to late next week before the staff is finalized. Adding it to the OP.

Any idea on what position we are looking to fill? Looks like DBs are good with Robinson since he coached that at UF. That leaves either a LB coach or 2nd DL coach.
With how important line play is, I'd go for a 2nd DL coach and let Muschamp coach LBs.

-Per JGT Boom likely to coach LBs and is looking for a 2nd DB coach
-T-Rob can either either CBs or Safeties so there is flexibility there
-Whatever the strength is of the new coach T-Rob will coach the other
-The above implies Garner likely has the DL all to himself
-Nothing credible saying Fountains job is in danger
