Auburn is the 6th school he has committed to. Will be his third school if he makes it to campus.

Originally committed to Kentucky and Billy Gillispie but signed with LSU, but didn't qualify. Wound up playing his freshman season at New Orleans and committed to transfer to FIU from there but changed his mind and wound up at NMSU. He was suspended for 2 games last season from hitting a Utah Valley player in the head with a basketball after the final buzzer which started a pretty ugly brawl between the 2 teams and fans in attendance.

Did you actually watch that video? Yeah he threw the ball, but it didn't look like that started any fight. It looked the fans were coming on the court to celebrate a win I guess and the fight broke out well away from him

He's solid, although Shamsid-Deen put up comparable stats last year as a freshman to KCRM's junior stats.
8 PPG, 43.7 FG%, 3.5 APG, 1.9 TPG

He'll be an improvement over Canada for sure.

Eta: Agree to disagree.

I don't care if he comes to Auburn or not. I still stand by my comments. Guy could be the biggest thug in the world, but I am not sure he was responsible for starting that fight.
Oh yeah, the violence in that fight doesn't compare to the beatdown DJ Pettway and his gang of thugs put on those poor Alabama students last year

this was my first thought but without the laughter. The kid through a ball at another kid and the fans started brawling after it happened. he fricked up, no doubt about it but i have no idea what happened before that.

Pearl has taken two very questionable kids in his first year. It's going to be fun seeing the type kids he fills his team with in the coming years.

I think it started the fight but who knows.
I almost put :inbeforeDJ: in my last post.
Eta: for what it's worth I like Pearl (and think he will do very well) but that was a pretty classless move by the player that I am surprised anyone would try to spin/defend in any way.

I am not defending the kid throwing the ball. He clearly shouldn't have thrown it. I just don't know if that started the fight, but I guess that is debatable. It looked like the fans were already coming on the court anyway

Either way, I don't support a lifetime ban for him throwing a fricken ball. Best of luck to him (I have done plenty of shite I am glad is not on tape).

He did the same at Tennessee his first 3 classes. A ton of thugs. Most of them were talented though. They got in some trouble here, but he was able to keep most of their off the court issues out of the public.
It is very difficult to sign elite bball players without character/academic concerns when you aren't at Duke/UNC/UK/etc. Tennessee was starting to get there towards the end of his tenure (guys like Tobias Harris, Jordan Adams, etc.) but I'm sure it will take 5-6 years at AU too.

Talk about a blast from the past.
FWIW, his Dad use to post on UK's Rivals premium board. Just a hot fricking mess all around. If I remember he was pretty questionable academically and I don't know that he was ever expected to make it to campus. Largely because the school he was at was one of those little basketball academies and they got into some accreditation issues.
He's a decent ballplayer. I believe he can dish the ball pretty well and has a decent shot from behind the arc.

He signed with LSU because Calipari was hired at Kentucky and ran him off
