Pictures below for tl;dr crowd.

So, the Fighting Texas Aggies beat my Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend. That's ok, the sun shines on a dog's arse every once and awhile. I still had a fun trip to Aggieworld, however I would like to inform the rant of a few things.

1. College Station is not what Aggy makes it out to be. They claim BCS is a diamond in the rough. It mostly consists of chain restaurants and crap hotels and is almost indistinguishable from any other Texas city. (inb4 sour grapes, inb4 58-10)

2. If you are into fine cuisine, eat before coming to CS. If you want a hamburger though, this is your town. The food is pedestrian at best, especially on Northgate, which brings me to my next point

3. Northgate sucks. Very underwhelming. It is basically 4 blocks total. For comparison, Dickson is twice as big with considerably more variety. NG made Dickson look like Bourbon.

4. We saw two hot girls on the whole trip. They both joined in calling the hogs and told us they were Arkansas students. The rumors are true, don't let Aggy tell you differently

5. Aggy said midnight yell would be hostile. We called the hogs, sang various university songs, etc and didn't even get a dirty look. If you are looking to harass some people, go to midnight yell. They just lay there and take verbal abuse

6. Frat attire is nonexistent at aTm. They think a maroon t-shirt is high class

7. They do have a good parking situation, probably better than most. If you happen to like NG, it is a pretty easy walk to the stadium

8. Getting to aTm is not the easiest thing in the world. There are some rough Farm to Market roads out that way

9. Aggy is very friendly, possibly to a fault. Easily the least intimidating venue I have ever been to. I'm not saying be nasty but they were annoying with the "howdy this" and "howdy that". It seemed very forced anyway

10. They think the conference welcomes them with open arms. They also pine for our approval

11. Their tailgating sucks. Two hours before the game the place was barren. Aggy's excuse "it's raining". Pretty sure the rest of the conference still shows up when its raining.

12. Their stadium smells like batshit, is covered in batshit, and their fans are batshit crazy. Kyle needs to be blown up under controlled conditions when nobody is inside it.

13. Their yell leaders/corps of cadets are worse than you think. Granted, most of the people we talked to said that they hated them too, but still. Good lord

14. We lost, we suck. So what, 42-25. We may lose out

Overall, their fans/gameday are not even close to SEC ready. They beat our arse on the field and I will eat crow in this thread but I have never been so underwhelmed with a city as I was with College Station. Let the flaming begin, and go hogs.

You hated College Station and you got your asses stomped by 7 TDs. How the hell did you have a fun trip? Sounds like a fricking nightmare to me.

Might want to edit the part about their stadium needing to be blown up.

People are super sensitive to that nowadays.

Good time with good friends, we talked a lot of shite the night before (who doesn't like doing that), made a lot of jokes, sat by some cool Aggies in the stadium and honestly it made me feel better about Fayetteville.

Also didn't come in with high expectations and didn't obsess over the scoreboard

Yeah, the rain killed the mojo--pre-game & post. No tailgating in the forecasted flash flood conditions.

Glad you made the trip and made it home safely. Good luck to your team the rest of the season.

Yall need to work on the tailgaiting.

You will see more people tailgaiting on Thursdays and Fridays at big SEC games than yall had on gameday.

Our tailgating is top-notch (ask Florida fans); just not in a driving rain. Hats off to your fans if standing in lightning is your thing.

1) BCS, as a whole, is not a diamond in the rough. We have a few good restaurants that are diamonds in the BCS rough, which you probably didn't eat at.

2) I've literally never heard anyone call Midnight Yell hostile. Ever. Because it isn't.

3) Frat attire is non-existent? Good. Frats are lame.

4) Tailgating is spread out. No centralized location. There are plenty good ones and plenty bad ones. Just have to look harder and cover more territory. If that's not your thing, then it sucks. Especially when it's raining and you have to walk in it.

5) Not a single one of your pictures works for me.

That's all the beef I have. Glad you at least kind of enjoyed it and hope you make it back on a clear day. In like 10 years when our contract with Jerry is up.

I always had good trips to CS,and by that I mean everyone always was nice and treated me great.

Everything else you said was true, though.

That being said, I love that part of Texas because I live in Dallas

Well, people on here told us we probably wouldn't like it because of the "aggy stories" and that it "wasn't a place to call the hogs"

People at A&M havent been in a "hostile" conference aside from sparse games here and there since the SWC died. The Big 12 was essentially our 40 years in the desert.

Asking Florida fans about good tailgating is like asking someone in Oregon about good BBQ. They are in no position to say your tailgating is top notch.

Ok.
Our tailgating sucks.
You shouldn't ever visit.
You'll hate it.

A&M tailgating is middle of the road. Considering it was an 11am game for a FBS opponent and literally the rainiest day in college station history, Im not terribly upset about it.
