Made it through night one. I suspect tonight is when it’s gonna get sketchy

Gonna be messy in Oxford - we're getting straight up sleet and the heavy stuff is a couple hours away.

It's bad. Lost power around 1:00am and I listened to trees/limbs snapping constantly since. Had a large limb hit my house - I know it took out a gutter but can't see yet what other damage. Got a generator running and gas heat, but trees are still snapping constantly and praying we don't end up with a large tree on the house.

Lost power in Grenada about an hour ago. Limbs down everywhere.

What doubly sucks is I’m on call at the hospital… once these roads freeze up I’m gonna have to put chains on my car

Oxford is screwed and so are a lot of the surrounding counties. Pontotoc gas has a big outage and Tippah might as well be Mogadishu

Same here. Further south so things aren’t as bad. Still may end up spending the night at the hospital though.

Hope you are doing ok. The worst we got in Southaven was a shite ton of snow. Roads were impassable if you don't have 4x4.

Yea. Thank god for natural gas. I have had my fire ripping all day. Lost power off of cr 217 at 1145 last night. We had major lines down on that road then a tree fell and took down a pole in front of my neighbor hood old oaks. It was the craziest storm I’ve seen. Pouring rain, thunder lightning and then it froze. The woods behind my house sounded like a battle field. Didn’t get to sleep last night till 4 with all the noise.

We are almost fully trapped in here. I didn’t want to leave due to a risk of a tree falling on my truck. The town got it arse kicked last night. This has to be worst than 94

Last night was insane in Oxford. Sounded like gun shots going off every 10 seconds with all the tree limbs cracking and snapping.
Haven’t had power in 24 hrs and a fallen tree is blocking all the cars in.

In other news, just cooked some soup on the grill.

Got family in Lafayette, Union and Panola Counties and they've had nothing but bad news to report. A long few weeks ahead. 10-12 inches of snow here in Shelby County, TN and some sleet mixed in but power's still on for everyone in the suburbs. The difference in ice accumulation for someone living on Holmes Rd in Memphis vs someone living on Pleasant Hill Rd in Hernando is night and day apparently. Try to stay warm and be safe out there Mississippi brothers and sisters.

Hope you all make it though, it sucks with no power. Do what you can for warmth.

We had no power for a week back in the Texas 2021 storm. Just a fireplace to heat house and crap ton of blankets.

Hope all of you are safe and power comes back as soon as possible. There is one thing I learned last January when we had the snow in South Louisiana and power going out, is that it is terrible. We had no power or running water for days. At least the crawfish boiling pot came in handy in melting the snow to flush toilets and such.

We got power in my neighborhood so if you need something reach out. The roads seem clear today and Lowe’s is open as is Reed’s.
