Maybe now, with RR running the offense, we'll see a system that can cut down on the 3-and-outs, and that improves red zone scoring. In the same vein, I'm hoping to see a defense that is at least decently-coached, with MM at the helm.

Under RR’s system we should field a team that can be more consistent in the rushing attack and thus convert some Red Zone scores. Plus MM will likely field a much more disciplined D which was sorely lacking the last 2 years.

These are legitimately good hires and anyone trying to piss on them is just being a negative nancy. Both are much better hires than I figured we could execute, so kudos for getting it done. Luke is like the seventh most experienced member of the staff, and that’s a good thing in all likelihood haha

I'm pretty happy with the hires, can we keep Matt Luke up in the booth and let RR run things on the field?

All we need out of Luke is him to keep the team on course. Hopefully he'll just be a true manager on the field and let his coordinators work.

The hires are solid. I can see HJJ's point about Freeze possibly not having the same budget for coordinator hires, but man were Longo (predictably) and McGriff (somewhat predictably, thought he would at least recruit well) such garbage tier hires.

I think if Luke pulls a Dabo and surrounds himself with a solid staff, it might work okay. However, he needs to make the tough decisions and actually fire more people instead of hoping that they'll be poached from the staff.

Also, despite the solid hires. Theres so much negative momentum in recruiting, I'm still not sure he has a chance of success from that alone.

Freeze also had to make hires when everyone knew the NCAA was gonna gut us.

Yes, that is how that sentence is worded? After the NCAA gutted us from how poorly Freeze ran his program.

Don't you mean the failure of the athletic department to keep the football program out of trouble?

Considering Liberty is about to be the only school in the Atlantic Sun Conference buying players, one would hope they’re winning big

In Freeze's defense, Bjork was not willing to put up close to this much money for assistants as he is with Luke.
Wait, what? Freeze literally gave Wesley fricking McGriff 3 years 1.1m. That's more than Rich Rod is making.

You think we hired shite coordinators because of money? Please. We hired shite coordinators because that's all we could get to come here.

Curious how Freeze's holier than thou recruiting pitch is going to be now that everyone realizes it is 100% phony.

I cant disagree with this more. You can spin it about 100 different ways. It could make his christian pitch even stronger.

If Freeze was truly the holy roller he claimed to be, he would have taken his mission to a school with a religious base, to begin with.

He brought his holier than tho attitude into a den of serpents and got bit. He couldn't handle it, and after getting sucked into the power play he crumbled in disgrace.

All good Christians will meet their demise when straying from the flock.

So saith the Lord. Amen.
