i mean realistically who would that be? Nobody worth a damn is coming here. Worst thing we could do is give another loser like mcgriff an albatross contract he doesn’t deserve.

I also think Neal and Chase let their feelings for Luke effect their narrative on him. I think if you had them off record they would ya he’s gone after next year.

I wanna see how he finishes this class and how he’s building the 2020 class before a render complete judgement.
So 3-4 years? Sorry but that is more detrimental to the program than the NCAA

hope your right but what Neal and Chase have been saying is Bjork and Luke wanna win the fan base back by hiring expensive multi year coordinators.

They wont win the fanbase back unless they're both gone. The fanbase hates them both and the new Chancellor will fire them both as soon as he can.

He literally has to hire Aranda and the Oklahoma OC for me to even consider supporting him

I don't think Luke can do anything to win back the fans, including winning.

What makes you think that? Logic would say that Luke is fired after this season and he wasn't. So now that logic is out, how sure are you that Bjork will fire the Djork next season?

I honestly don't think Bjork is going to fire Luke ever. It'll possibly be the next AD.

Then why would Bjork tie himself to that? He’s not a complete idiot. He knows 6-6 is the absolute best we could do.

Because Bjork signed Luke, Longo, and McGriff to ridiculous contracts. The contracts are so ridiculous that he should be fired for that alone.

So if he were to fire everyone right now and pay out it would show how big of an idiot he is and he'd probably be fired too.

So instead they fire McGriff, because somebody had to be fired. They give Longo time to find another job so they wont have to pay all of his buyout, and he holds on to Luke as long as possible to try and knock some of the years off of his contract.

I would imagine he hopes that will buy him time before we fire him so he can find another job, or he prays Luke finds good coordinators and turns the program around.

Hire mediocre assistants with multi year contracts because no one good will come here with Luke in charge. Keep Luke around after a horrid season next year because no good head coach candidate will come without being able to hire their own people.

This is how you drive the program even further into the ground.

Luke will never have the support of the fanbase. If the above scenario happens, then Luke's dumbass should still be fired and one of the coordinators that was successful replace him.

Still doesn’t explain paying all new assistance to leave less than a year later.

I'm not sure why we listen to you at all. Your hatred for Luke seems personal. No one on Earth is winning with the team we have returning next season. It's just not happening.

How can you see improvement at 4-8? Essentially the way Tennessee passed the eye test at 5-7. They got killed a few games but you could at least see that with recruiting they may turn things around.

Luke is in year 2 now. Not year 3. That first year was as dead of a year as anyone could imagine. The guy inherited a load of crap left by Freeze who ironically you continue to defend.

Anyone that knows football knows it takes time to rebuild. It takes even longer if you are in the midst of a bowl ban. The recruiting class last season has turned out fairly impressive all things considered. Make two splash Coordinator hires.

We currently have the #18 class in the country. If Luke can get Dean, flip Turnage, get R. Jones, and maybe Gray at RB with a few more pieces and finish in the top 20 how can ANY OM fan be pissed at that?

Say we go 4-8 but all the games are relatively close and you can see the confidence in the team growing they are just young. He follows up a top 20 class with a top 10 class. What person on Earth would want him gone? You! You would still want him gone because there simply isn't anything he could do that would make you happy.

I'm not saying Luke will do any of this. But rooting against your own team is extremely dumb. It's old. You've beat the horse to death twice.

Dores... Luke inherited infinitely more talent than Freeze did when he got the 2-10 team from Nutt with 30+ players on danger of becoming academically ineligible. Freeze won 7 & 8 games his first two seasons with very little SEC caliber talent. Luke got worse. 6 then 5 games. In my opinion, there is no comparison as Freeze was a much better coach than Luke.

Nutt's defense was just as bad as he left. Luke has been at the helm for 2 seasons and has shown no signs of improving the team in any aspect of the game.

Offense - getting worse
Defense - getting worse
Special Teams - getting worse
Recruiting - worse
On field play - worse

Like I said, with what I have seen of Luke, he could have the all-time NFL all-star team as players and he would still lose.

What are you talking about?

I swear some of you act like all things are equal. We have been on probation and a two year bowl ban. The fact that ANYONE came here last year is remarkable. There is no way in hell I'd send my son to a school with a interim coach only finding out a month before signing day that he was being named HC.

We had a decent class. As much as people rag on it this class isn't that bad especially if they can finish strong.

Stop comparing Luke and Freeze. It's apples and oranges. Freeze is obviously the better coach but the circumstances are no where near the same for Luke.

That’s hilarious if you think our defense hasn’t improved it’s still awful but Jesus Christ last year was unwatchable.

I just don't even know what to say to you.

1st half of the season: D gave up 213 points
2nd half of the season: D gave up 221 points

If you see any kind of improvement there, you have no functional brain.

We were #110 in total defense in 2017, we're #120 this season. We definitely didn't improve and from a players perspective we lost most of what little talent we had on defense from 2017.

Now we're losing the remainder.

I guess losing Speaks, our best LB, and Haynes didn't matter. Not to mention our one and only CB going down for the year in the first game.

Some of you fans have no football knowledge. You talk like emotional fans.

I'm responding to the user who said that we improved from the 2017 team on defense.

We didn't. But no one should have expected otherwise since we lost what little talent we had.

Why is this always an issue? I would like to see some comparative stats regarding injuries because it seems like we tend to have the most and they're typically always catastrophic.
