He’s one player. What good does it actually do for Ole Miss football to risk having to vacate wins in pursuit of natty?

I don't think the NCAA can vacate wins in this instance because there is a TRO in place, so legally, it is illegal for the NCAA to declare him ineligible. It's kind of the whole point of the case. If the NCAA decided to vacate wins, Ole Miss would have grounds for a lawsuit. A court of law supersedes arbitrary NCAA rules.

More importantly, what does it communicate about the future of OM football beyond next season that OM is acting like the offense can’t continue to be successful without Chambliss. Surely I can’t be the only person who thinks it’s alarming that OM doesn’t seem to think we can win a natty without Chambliss.

I think you are missing one key point in this. This is not Ole Miss vs the NCAA. It is Chambliss vs the NCAA. Chambliss is just the returning starting QB that led you to a 13 win season. He doesn't have to step in and learn the offense. He doesn't have to hopefully mesh with the other players. That's all in place. From a football standpoint, OM would be stupid not to play him.

You seem certain that the NCAA is going to vacate our wins but they would really kick a hornet's nest (legally speaking) if they violated the restraining order. He's not an ineligible player because the NCAA is legally bound, at this point, to not rule him ineligible.

Do any of y’all remember the wins over bama with less excitement because they were vacated later? I sure don’t lol. Game still happened. We still won. Could not care less.

No, but the overall record etc still bugs me since I know they were cheating twice as much as we were at the time.

Then it’s settled. Vacated wins brought us Lacy and Chambliss.

I can't even recall what her initial argument was?

And I'm not going to look it up because I'm not talking to Sidewalk.

We still claim it as a win. The media still claims it as a win. Hell, Alabama fans still consider it a loss along with 2015. I'm failing to see how a vacated game matters at all.

Low IQ thinkers can rarely follow the logic of those with higher IQs. Lower IQ individuals tend to focus on the “little picture”, the here and now. Higher IQ individuals tend to focus on the “big picture”. A higher IQ individual can’t oversimplify things by saying that “because I think this variable is meaningless, it is”. That logic doesn’t track with a higher IQ individual because a higher IQ individual recognizes the interconnectivity of variables and needs true empirical evidence to support discounting a variable.

Ohhhh that touched a button.
