I do think Pete will be as well though. He’s a systems guy. I do think he may be stretched too thin for both HC and DC duties though. This needs to be seriously evaluated


ETA: we lost to a good Florida team in their place. This is Pete’s first big test he’s had as a HC. He’s never had to rebound after a loss, which is objectively kinda crazy… this will tell us more as to his ability as a HC than anything. We need some answers, but overreacting isn’t the right move

I am high on Sumrall and would have much preferred him to Pete. But it’s only been a few games, and he won’t hold onto that OC for long

this is my biggest concern. I think Pete will do just fine, to be honest I think all he really needs is to just recruit and manage. We have a great system in place in this current landscape for just most coaches to be able to succeed.
I do wish we had Sumrall though, I think he’d be fantastic and would’ve been here for a long time. But I think Pete will end up being successful as a head coach and I don’t think we’ll regret having him. I just hope he gives up DC duties because doing both isn’t going to work.
