To start this post off, it's a hypothetical. So take that with a grain of salt.

There are a lot of negative feelings around the state of the Ole Miss athletic program across the big 3 sports. Bianco is seen as a coach who wastes talent with poor pitching change timing and a reluctance to change lineups. Kennedy had his hiccups, but there was a lot of controversy regarding the hiring of his replacement, Kermit Davis. Many felt he wasn't a big enough splash hire to justify firing AK. We all know the current climate of football, so I won't repeat it.

Here's the question: do we fire Bjork if Kermit has success this season and Bianco makes a good run in the NCAA tourney to justify the talent he has on his team? Omitting my opinion to improve discussion.

We fire Bjork regardless of anything that happens in baseball or basketball, just because of all the stupid shite he has done involving the football program

This.

I don’t know what the hell Bianco’s problem is. We need to hire Tony La Russia as a baseball consultant to tell Bianco its ok to change your lineup and pitching game towards the end of the season and in the postseason.

And the whole Kermit Davis hire was a CYA: the fans were wanting someone new, so Bjork hired someone who probably won’t lose as much as Kennedy-but just by 1-2 games. That’s a shitty hire criteria.

And frick football, if that’s what you want to call the product our football coaching staff and team fielded this year.

You guys are Truly some dumbasses if you think Bianco needs help on the baseball field.

This is all I got to say.. Here are the 3 winningest baseball coaches in Ole Miss school history.

Tom Swayze - 361-201-2
Jake Gibbs - 485-389-8
Mike Bianco - 710-412-1

Argue that..

Ultimately baseball and basketball are such a small fraction of our revenue it’s not going to matter if we win championships in both. He gone.

Last year was the first time I've ever wanted to fire Bianco. Under no circumstance should we have lost to Tennessee Tech with the talent we have. He needs to make it to Omaha.

As far as Kermit goes, he has exceeded expectations and the basketball team seems to be much improved over the last few years

That being said, even if we go to Omaha and the basketball team goes to the NCAA tournament, Bjork needs to be fired. Hiring Luke put the nail in his coffin for me

1. Fire Bjork
2. Fire Bianco by promoting him
3. Hire McDonnell as baseball coach
4. Fire entire football staff
5. ?????
6. Profit

As much as I like Bianco, I don't know if he has the personality for it. I don't think he would be terrible or anything though. He would definitely be professional

I keep telling my buddies in Louisville it's going to happen and they all say "Why would he leave? Our program is so much better and would give him anything he wants"

They have no clue what baseball is like in the SEC. They compare everyone to Kentucky

You can ask your dumbass Louisville friends why McDonnell has no buyout if he comes to oxford but has one if he leaves for anywhere else. Then laugh in their chain wearing faces

If you’re not happy with Kermit David after watching how they play compared to Kennedy you are watching a different team. If he had a 5 he would have this team undefeated and he just about beat Butler without one.

Not defending Ross for other issues but I’m not scared to give credit for something that was good.

Bianco has managed to find a way to short-circuit things right at the wrong time, but otherwise he's been excellent. Can't imagine firing him. And the Davis hire for hoops looks to be exactly what we needed so far. Some of us are far too impatient.

How many CWS appearances?

How many CWS finals wins?

I didn’t say fire him. I said hire someone who can tell him how to coach in the late season and postseason because he’s not good at it.

First off, Kermit is better than expected. He was not considered a homerun hire but he has done really well.

Secondly, Bianco was here way before Bjork. Any success is on Bianco, not Bjork.

Finally, the cash cow for Ole Miss in every way is the football program. I would venture to say that he not only failed in compliance but also held back the program significantly. He has now pissed off a lot of fans and donors. I don't know if we will ever recover from this debacle even if we do get a decent coach at some point. We should have kept Freeze and let him deal with his personal issues personally. That guy was a winner and would have us in a much better position than we are now. I fully blame Bjork for the NCAA mess more than I do Freeze. Bjork bent us over and had us fricked by MSU, the SEC, and the NCAA. Look how he handled the terrible call that ended the Vandy game... He said he agreed to just move on. What kind of leadership is that? LSU went apeshit over a single targeting call. MSU went apeshit over the Bama game. We moved on. Bjork is such a cuckold and a poor leader that he is the kind of person that loses wars by being out matched by lesser foes.

Ole Mis has one of the best baseball stadiums/facilities/fanbases in the nation compare that to football where we have the 2nd worst (Vanderbilt) stadium in the SEC, a shitty quiet fanbase, and mediocre facilities for a P5 school. Baseball should absolutely be competing for national championships a lot more than they are.

This is kind of like asking if you should divorce your wife if she screws other guys but is a great cook, a great friend, and otherwise a great spouse. She's still screwing other guys.

Our stadium is weird but I would argue that the rest of our football facilities are really some of the best in the nation. None of the other IPFs in the SEC compare to ours. And Freeze showed that when you win, our crowd can be great.

We have a better stadium than Mizzou and pretty similar to UK, MSU, and USC.

No, much better than the bottom of other conferences. I can't image we are worse than Maryland, Rutgers, Purdue, Wazzou, Northwestern, Syracuse, Kansas State. Hell baseball alone we dominate the overall power 5.

Bianco definitely needs a pitching coach. Definitely!
