We need to be huge UGA fans this week. The difference between 6 and 7-8 seeds is massive this year. At 6 we are either playing UVA or a G5 in the first round at home. At 7-8 it could be Bama, ND, or OU. Then in the second round, if UGA wins, the B1G loser drops to 3 (or maybe tech jumps to 3). Either way, we don’t have to play the B1G champ, SEC champ, Oregon, Bama, or Notre Dame until the semis.

Plus our only loss would be at the SEC champs home.

Need to pull for UGA and TT this weekend. A Bama or BYU win would likely drop us down.

And keeping 6 is crucial - want to play UVA / Group 5 team round 1 and get the #3 seed round 2.

Yeah, I’m not positive byu win would jump them all the way to 6 especially if it is close, but better not to find out. UGA is the must have.

Anybody know the ticket situation? I’m assuming season ticket holders will get an email? Interested to see what the pricing looks like.

That’s a quick turnaround to purchase tickets for what will be a sold out game. You’re probably right though.

2 weeks is enough time. I bet they probably send out something to season ticket holders this week to give them first dibs. Then week before everything goes first come, first serve.

I do not think there is enough time to run it through donation point system like they normally do for bowl games.

This is the way HS and NFL do playoffs. Season ticket holders get first go and then what is left goes general public.

So, I did a cursory review of the transfer rules and it appears that a transferring player can immediately enroll and join the team. I’m not sure but I *think* that means a player entering the portal on January 2 could conceivably be playing for a team in the semifinals on January 8-9.

If this is correct we need to be ready to pick up a lockdown corner the minute the portal opens, and get him enrolled pronto. That’s our greatest need if we want to compete for the trophy, and it also is the single position that doesn’t require fully learning the whole system. “Hey, new guy, man up on the x receiver.”

Probably too far-fetched, but fun to think about finding that missing piece of the puzzle.

While true, there is still a rule against one player playing for 2 teams in the same season. So even if we signed a player day 1 of the transfer window, they would still be ineligible due to that rule.

ETA: I don't know off the top of my head whether that would apply to a D2 CB. But it definitely applies to FBS/FCS players.

Ahh, ok. Like I said, I only took a cursory look.

We still need an elite cover corner tho. Even if it’s not until next fall.

It is dead all over this site for NSD, compared to what it used to be. Portal has changed a lot of the excitement and winning the HS recruiting wars has been minimalized. Still important, just not what it was back pre-2020.

We signed two guys named JaMichael. Only the elite teams can sign multiple JaMichaels.
