No that wouldn't work. I'm not suggesting hold them hostage. I'm saying if they don't scan out and have more than two games where they leave early they forfeit the ability to purchase a student ticket the next year. The "scanner" wouldn't be available until halfway thru the 4th quarter.

So they don't have to walk around to get out they can simply walk out. But if it's done more than 2 times a season they forfeit their ability to purchase student ticket the next season.
That's not asking much. There are usually 6 or so home games. If you gotta leave early more than 2 times you don't deserve student tickets.

Would that same group make enough to live in Oxford
Probably not

or be able to make it back to enough games to warrant such a program
There are quite a few within driving distance in Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham, and Jackson. Individually, a person might not make it back for all 7 home games, but I never said the tix had to stay season tickets. I would definitely go back for 1-2 games a year if tix were affordable

They could just activate the rebel rewards points once the 4th quarter starts.

They moved the student section into the sun, so for the Wofford, Alabama, and Georgia game, it was unbearably hot. People arn't considering the fact that if you have an actual ticket you can just walk into the game 15 minutes before kickoff, students have to get there over an hour early to get a good seat and just bake in the sun. The terrible game times matched with the sun and early blow outs have been the reason kids are leaving. The Alabama game was close, so students stayed till the end. As the weather cools down, I am sure the students will stay longer.

Nah bro thats too logical.
They should go and bake in 95 degree heat even though the rest of the people complaining have specific assigned seats.

You are sooo right. I speak from experience as my son's face got baked (blister baked) as a result of sitting through the Bama game.

It is Mississippi. I know it was hot. It was hot back when the student section was in the north east corner of the stadium too... but we stayed... even though our team wasn't great we were known for arriving early and leaving late and standing the entire time. These millenials always cry and complain about something.
No school is going to give students the good seats. I'm surprised that Ole Miss did for so long. At UGA, most of the student section is in an upper deck and they have to stand sideways to fit everyone in.
Quit making excuses. Support the team.

So what was the excuse for the Memphis game? The sun was gone, we were playing a undefeated team, and we're up only 7 in the 3rd and the students were still leaving...

There was no excuse, our student section just sucks.

I'm pretty sure every student section is pretty terrible now. LSU's shows up, but starts leaving at halftime, as if half of them need to beat traffic or something

This is what happens when the student section is filled with kids that instead of watching football growing up, they spent their past times playing video games and sending snapchats and twittering.

You are spot on.

Dear god you guys are a bunch of old fricks.
It's pretty simple and I believe has already been addressed. Most females don't give a shite about football and want to leave at half. Male students mostly like vagina and tend to follow wherever the vagina goes.
It's basically like if the pied piper was a beautiful snatch instead of a guy with a flute.

The kids these days just don't have their priorities straight Pank. When I was in school, Saturdays were the only days I set an alarm and woke up before 2. It involved drinking bourbon as soon as I rolled out of bed, getting bent, and watching football. Pussy was for the other six days of the week. I can honestly say I was too drunk to even get it up on game days. If I could, I had failed as a good Rebel. I met a girl who also loved football and drinking on Saturdays, so I married her. Ten years later, we're still going strong and have a little Reb being taught our ways and who's destined to play at Ole Miss. Even as we've calmed down over the years and can count the days we even have a single drink on two hands, Saturday's remain the same as if we were 20 all over again as I try my best to finish off what little liver I have left and wake up hoarse from cheering on the Rebs.

As I read that, I heard the Budweiser commercials jingle for "real American heros" playing in my mind

Sell beer in the stadium

Students can't afford stadium beer prices when it's so cheap in the grove
