I feel like we continue to put our defense in harm's way by keeping them on the field so much. Vandy had almost 2 whole quarters of possession entering the 4th QTR.

TD drives that last one minute. Sure, they're fun but man, I hate watching our D get worn out every week. I feel like it's going to bite us in the arse against teams like Florida and LSU.

I'm no expert though. In Hugh I trust. Unless we have the ball inside our opponent's 5 yard line. I don't trust him then.

I agree 100% all our offensive drives whether they be 3 and outs or 3 and a touchdown seem to each last as long as the other. I'm worried not only defensively how this can hurt us but its a little worrisome not having and offensive who in the fourth quarter with a lead can sustain a drive to work substantial amounts of time off the clock. In Hugh I Trust.

3 play 1 minute drive for a TD I will NEVER complain about.

String together a few 1 minute 3 and outs then you're on to something.

Thing about Vandy is they wanted to shorten the game. They knew they couldn't get in a shootout against us. So they used a lot of the play clock and used 3 plays to get a first down every time. Then they also tried to make us play the same game by taking out the over the top passes.

What worries me about UF is that their offense is gonna try to do the same.

Why did we not stretch the field against Vandy?

last year we all bitched because we ran slow arse offense and wanted us to go faster since we have a good defense... now we're bitching because we want to slow down and stop leaning on the defense.

it's gotta be one way or the other

I have never advocated for this.

Vandy kept everything in front of them and kept two safeties back deep. The one time Swag went deep he threw an interception

Do you think Florida will take that blueprint and fuggg us to death this weekend

We've still got some wrinkles we haven't really fleshed out. Like a certain TE and a true read option.

We will be fine as long as our play calling isn't abysmal. I keep hearing about Florida's elite secondary and I'm not denying their talent, but freaking ECU's QB carved them up. Their QB play/run defense has been suspect at best and I think we will eventually wear them out. 24-14 Rebs

The middle is susceptible to a good passing game. Hopefully that means a large dose of Engram.

They were missing like 3 people in the secondary that game.

VH3 won't be 100% this weekend, but other than that their secondary is damn good.

Seriously, the offense scoring in one minute isn't the problem because you come away with points.

The issue is quick 3 and outs

Absolutely.

We really haven't seen much read option this year.

I'm ready to see Engram break out. I wonder if defenses are taking that away or if Kelly isn't a TE man or what

Herbstreit said it a couple of times, and it looks accurate: Kelly is fast, but not quick.

I think Kelly is looking deep every play. It was there most of the time in our first couple games and he became comfortable with it. Plus, that's his strength. His best throws are down field or long throws from the hash to the opposite side of the field. He needs to get more comfortable with the short/intermediate throws, so that we don't have another offensive meltdown similar to what we saw against Vandy. They gave us that all night, but Kelly never took it.

Also, I'm not sure why we have the rep for not having a competent run-game. We're outrushing Arkansas and TAMU, and no one calls them unbalanced. I'm pretty sure Jaylen and Jordan are both averaging over 5 YPC. As a matter of fact, I KNOW Jaylen is averaging 6.3 YPC. And they're converting when we need them to.

The problems have been Kelly only seeing the back half of the field. He needs to start going through his progression like he did so well the first few games. I won't say it's a problem yet, because he's still fresh in the SEC, but he needs to get comfy fast because UF is going to be similar to Bama on defense. It will be tough sledding.

And our defense needs to attack and stop giving up short shite to teams with no long game.
