Dykes wouldn’t leave TCU at this point. Especially after 1 year.

What’s your source?

I'm not really sold on giving a guy a chance based upon only one season. There's not a big enough sample size to know whether or not he can build a program.

Dykes has built three programs, but he is also a job hopper, having left for "greener pastures" twice, including one time to a heated, cross-town rival.

Also, Dykes interviewed with multiple SEC programs after leading Cal to it's best season in a long time, ultimately staying in Berkeley for one more season and being fired.

I’m just ready for Lane to say his good bye. This has ruined the season.

It has certainty put a big ol damper on the end of it. We almost got the solid three years out of him that most projected. Of course he’s not gone yet but….

At any rate, if he leaves when it appears he might, he has certainly left us much better than when he found us. It would now be up to us to find the next right guy and continue this thing.

Seems like Auburn may be getting our coach. Just not the one they wanted most.

I got a weird feeling last night after he told the team “I’m staying as long as something major doesn’t happen”. Just like last year, he waited until the very end to sign. I’m curious if Sexton wasn’t told a big job might open up and to keep his options open. He could say he wasn’t lying to the team, he wasn’t going to Auburn, but a once in a lifetime deal popped up Saturday/Sunday that changed his mind.

Whatever, probably just the breakfast bourbon talking. Happy Thanksgiving boys!

That's my read is as well.

Auburn is out, but not committing to anything if Texas, Alabama, etc opens up unexpectedly this off-season.

The Auburn board is still confident he's all Auburn - until he signs a contract somewhere no one knows what's next.

I'm of the mind that hes leaving and we'll be better for it. Lane always thinks about what he says and what media reaction will be. That "something significant" will be a larger offer from Auburn.

It'll all be about who we hired to replace him. Herman or Fickell would be good for us long term.

Pretty sure he’s going to Nebraska.

Yeah 48 hours ago all the stories were about Rhule turning Nebraska down. Sounds like that was a negotiation tactic, or just flat out wrong.
