Our offense finished pretty high in the SEC. We're top three in most categories and top four in scoring.

Y'all do know that Jr doesn't call the plays right. Lebby did, but Weis does not

I find it hard to believe that Kiffin would run the ball into the left A gap for 1 yard gains multiple times in a row.

Kiffin has stated his preference is for him not to call the offensive plays but that was with Lebby.

quote:

When Kiffin left Alabama after the 2016 regular season to take the FAU job, he was told he could take one person from the Alabama staff with him. He chose Weis Jr. and made him a tight ends coach.

Within a month, Steve Sarkisian—Kiffin's replacement as offensive coordinator at Alabama—left Alabama for the same job with the Atlanta Falcons and also was told he could take one staffer with him. He chose one who had already left, taking Weis Jr. away from Kiffin and making him an offensive assistant.

A year later, Kiffin went back to Weis Jr. and offered the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach job. Kiffin says Weis Jr. won't be calling plays at first, but even so, it was a gig the Falcons couldn't compete with. Weis Jr. wants to be a head coach in college football, and what better way than proving your chops as an offensive coordinator in the one Group of 5 job Kiffin has made must-see?

Puff piece on Weiss

I think Weiss calls the plays.

Is this the least talked about bowl game we've been in for decades?

Kind of hard to have much buzz honestly with how shittey we ended the season

Texas bowl is a letdown considering where we were at the halfway point ( of course that was due to our schedule being easy but still )

It’s also on a Wednesday night. Unless you live in the Houston area, kind of hard to make that trip without missing multiple days of work.

The city of Houston isn’t some destination either. Like lawyered said expectations were for something better.

I’m going but my family lives there and that’s the only reason I’m going but Houston being a shite destination isn’t really going to be the reason for poor showing from our fanbase. Quite literally almost every SEC bowl tie in location is shite even the FL bowls fight me

Nope but Tex Tech as an opponent (again) doesn't do much for anybody. Losing streak at the end of the year sucked. Kiffin cumming/going at the end of the year burnt some people out. Plenty of reasons to not go but the Houston location isn't necessarily one.

For me it's the mid-week kickoff. I would've gladly made a weekend kickoff in Florida.
