The Music City bowl is cold AF and the Titan's stadium whips the wind around

It was really cold for our bowl game against West Virginia where Cut wouldn't let Eli play until the very end and we almost pulled it off. This Texas Bowl is fairly new and very new to SEC but it is a better than the Music City. Also, the Music opponent Iowa doesn't really blow my skirt up either.

Nope - not excited much over Texas Tech and wouldn't be with Iowa or even Illinois. Such is this level bowl, which in the bowl landscape are pretty darn good bowls. The problem is the bowl system nowadays in general. Which is why the 12-team playoff is going to be outstanding. Let's just manage to get our asses in that regularly enough, and I will be happy. Much much more exciting.

The transfer portal feels like it has made these bowls even more worthless. Come travel to Shreveport to see all of your 2nd stringers play!

Moreover, and some of y'all may not feel this way I understand, I wasn't overly excited about Baylor last year even in the Sugar Bowl. And that was with essentially a front row seat in the Dome surrounded by what I now know was 50K COVID cases. There's just something about those Big 12 teams that don't get my juices flowing. And then when Corral went down we all knew the offense was shot. Let's do a playoff and let that be it. Hell with the bowls.

I don't like they Big12 matchups in the west either. Cotton, Texas, even Sugar against Big12. That's why i wanted Outback Bowl. Florida bowl in Tampa against big10.

Sugar Bowl used to rotate non-SEC teams rather than limit it to one conference. There were a lot more eastern teams than those from other side of the Mississippi too. Look below.

I feel like the Big XII tie-in will die once Tejas and Oklahoma join the conference.

Non-SEC Sugar Bowl Participants
2021 - Baylor (Big XII)
2020 - Ohio State, Clemson (B1G, ACC) CFP semifinal)
2019 - Baylor (Big XII)
2018 - Texas (Big XII)
2017 - Clemson (ACC) (CFP semifinal)
2016 - Oklahoma (Big XII)
2015 - Oklahoma State (Big XII)
2014 - Ohio State (B1G) (CFP semifinal)
2013 - Oklahoma (Big XII)
2012 - Louisville (Big East)
2011 - Michigan, Virginia Tech (B1G, ACC)
2010 - Ohio State (B1G)
2009 - Cincinnati (Big East)
2008 - Utah (Mountain West)
2007 - Hawaii (Mountain West)
2006 - Notre Dame (independent)
2005 - West Virginia (Big East)
2004 - Virginia Tech (ACC)
2003 - Oklahoma (Big XII) (BCS National Championship Game)
2002 - Florida State (ACC)
2001 - Illinois (B1G)
2000 - Miami (Big East)
1999 - Florida State, Virginia Tech (ACC, Big East) (BCS National Championship Game)
1998 - Ohio State, Texas A&M (B1G, Big XII)
1997 - Florida State, Ohio State (ACC, B1G)
1996 - Florida State (de facto national championship game)
1995 - Virginia Tech, Texas (Big East, SWC)
1994 - Florida State
1993 - West Virginia (Big East)
1992 - Miami (de facto national championship game)
1991 - Notre Dame (independent)
1990 - Virginia (ACC)
1989 - Miami (ACC)
1988 - Florida State (ACC)
1987 - Syracuse (independent)

I think they should keep some bowls. But just ones that make actual good vacation spots. Keep the Bahamas bowl, maybe do away with El Paso and Shreveport.

El Paso is actually pretty sweet. Wish they would keep the traditional name bowls for P5 teams that don’t make the playoffs and give the G5 schools the bowls named after mayonaise etc.

Hopefully picking up a WR or two and some blue chip D players that didn’t get playing time where they are.

If Weis Jr remains our offensive coordinator nothing will matter. We did the legacy hire courtesy, yay, now let him go he someone else’s problem.

With John Garrison being hired at OL coach, I fully expect better OL play in the red zone. If Kiffin can tutor Weis over the off season on play calls, we should be fine.

And there’s also that pesky pass blocking which we seemed to suck at more often not. Hopefully the new guy can help with cleaning that up.
