Left us with a lot of holes? I posted this on the main board when someone was talking about OM coaches never inheriting talent:

Matt Luke inherited:
Shea Patterson Chiefs
DK Metcalf Seahawks
AJ Brown Eagles
Van Jefferson Rams
Dawson Knox Bills
Jordan Wilkins Colts
Greg Little Dolphins
Marquis Haynes Panthers
Benito Jones Lions
Demarquis Gates Bears
Jaylon Jones Bears
CJ Moore Lions
Myles Hartsfield Panthers

But those are just the guys from preseason depth chart of 2017 that are still on NFL rosters. The more you know....

Look at the other side of that coin: Hugh Freeze had all of that talent and yet we were poo in 2016.

Look at all these NFL studs who gave up 457 rushing yards to a sub-.500 State team.

He had a lot of young talent. Metcalf, Brown, Little, Jefferson and Lodge were all true freshmen. Not to mention we lost Kelly to a torn ACL. He was an All-SEC QB that we didn’t have the last 3-4 games of the year

Hugh isn’t going to happen bro

He hates people like us actually and your defense of him is perplexing.

I know it’s not happening. Just saying that it should. And he can hate me all he wants. I just want to win

How can you not see we can win without him? shite. Houston Nutt led us to 18 wins over 2 years. Lane has already done that even if we lose out and finish 8-5 (with a bowl loss).

Hugh freeze is great value lane Kiffin. If you thought our fans hated him by the end just think how bad it’s going to be at auburn when the honeymoon is over. I honestly can’t wait to see it from the outside looking in. His biggest rivals will be bama and UGA. Good luck buddy

Freeze at Auburn will be annoying for 2-3 years. Then it'll crash and burn big time.

To say Kiffin is a lazy recruiter is a very uninformed take.
I never said he’s a lazy recruiter I said he focuses more on transfers than he does hs. Which is ok if they’re freshman/sophomore and will be around the program for more than one season, instead of having to immediately fill that hole in your roster after the season ends. But I also wish we’d land and develop more hs talent. Both can be possible lmao

Well Patterson was never drafted and last I heard he was cut by the usfl so plus off the top of my head you’re also missing aj Moore.
But regardless, you’re telling me the team didn’t have problems when freeze left? Those guys you mentioned are talented but what about their backups? Roster holes aren’t limited to just the starters. And if we truly had such great talent under freeze (which as you pointed out, 3 nfl receivers, a te, rb, lt, etc) why’d we suck so bad his last year? The big time freshman were capable of bowl eligibility in 2013 but not 2016?

2013 had a lot more experienced juniors and seniors so we didn’t lean heavily on the freshmen like we did in 2016.

That last year the energy had been drained by the constant witch hunt that had been going on for years at that point.

Enough with the Freeze talk in this thread.

We are 8-2 and play two rivals to close the season. We have an opportunity to win 10+ games in consecutive seasons, something we have only done once.

Let’s talk Arkansas.

They can run it but so can we. They rush the passer very well but their rushing D is not good. They give up 182/game on the ground in conference play.

Does anyone know anything about their kicker and punter?

Sucks that Kiffin only dismisses coaching rumors and doesn't refute them in press conferences.... that's gotta be distracting to players

We've given away 2 games this season. It's another season of what could have been. The last thing we need is to drop the last two games.

We really need Carter to make a big dick move and lock down the big raise early this season. It's time to put Kiffin financially out of reach for most programs and let the world know that we are serious about winning football games. It will also help recruiting to have this talk settle down.

For sure. If I'm a HS recruit... why would I wanna commit somewhere where the coach is always the talk of coaching changes

It’s exhausting as a fan to have a coach constantly cannonballing into the drama of this shite year after year

I’m sure the players are focused on the game.
