Corral going full retard in the 4th

What I get sick of is we don’t ever get any urgency until the last minute of the game. Kinda late for that. Do it during the game. Our tempo has gone from a Ferrari to a pinto

Why is luke calling timeouts with 21 seconds left, lol. Game is over
Posted on 10/19/19 at 10:20 pm to DesotoRebel
Why is Luke coaching is a better question.

If Luke loves Ole Miss, he shouldn't have a problem donating a majority of his salary to athletics after this year by being an integral part of the alumni association

Play calling today was absolutely horrible. Defense played well enough to win. Offense looks lost.

Can someone fill me in on Rich Rod's booth tantrums? It looks silly AF. Are plays not being executed as drawn up? Is his play calling being overridden by Luke? What's going on here?

It’s when he calls a play not knowing the down and distance and realizes it after the snap

I've watched and watched and watched Braylon Sanders' first catch that was overturned and there's just no way it should have been. It looks like a catch to me and at the very least, the very least, there wasn't enough there to overturn it. Absolutely baffling. They did the absolute very opposite of what they say they are going to.

Corral made some pretty dumb decisions; i thought the tantrums were mostly warranted. People bitch about RR, but if we had crew cut instead, it would be 100% Corral. RR system found Plumlee.

I feel Rich Rod’s playcalling has left something to be desired the past couple of weeks but I doubt the dual QB system is his decision. It seems like he’s being forced into playing Corral IMO.

I don’t doubt that. JRP is his recruit. And you’re right-the play calling has been bad.

RR needs to go. His offense is arse just like his attitude. This offense won't be successful in the sec.

Rich Rod calls plays that try to trick the opponent but he does it so often that it is shocking when we don’t do it. We run the QB draw every time we go 5 WRs with Plumlee that it isn’t shocking anyone. We don’t run any screen plays and try to make it easier on our QBs. Every pass against A&M was 20 yards downfield and difficult throws.

I’m just as frustrated with Rich Rod because I never have liked his style of offense (and I think there’s also a chance the game has simply passed him at this point) but I’m suspicious he isn’t being given the complete control his weird system needs so I can’t totally hate him.
Urban Meyer and his OCs used to run this same offense at UF to varying degrees of effectiveness but they rarely did anything that was totally incongruous to the system and ruined the offense’s rhythm like we do countless times per game.

Seems like coach Mac has maximized his limited personnel, and he has done an excellent job of game planning around it. He really understands everyone and their limits.
Seems like Rich Rod is doing the exact opposite. He is not calling plays to maximize our players skill sets and he is regressing worse and worse as more film gets out. I know part of it can be attributed to execution issues (how many wide open overthrows are we going to miss in one season) but it’s also on the coaches.

I think someone on here (me) said many times before the season started that the Rich Rod hire was not impressive. The guy has sucked since West Virginia.
He also got fired from his last job for sexual harassment. So there's that. This was a stupid hire and the people that fought me about making him head coach post Luke are stupid too.

Do you care to rebut Jakesnake66 from another thread? He makes good points.

I realize stats don't tell the whole story and they can be used to make either side of pretty much any argument. Context is everything. BUT...I'm not sure this view that MacIntyre is setting the world on fire while Rich Rod needs a ticket on the next bus out of town is based on facts. No doubt the defense is improved, and at times it looks fantastic, but even with that the "land shark defense" sits at #83 among the FBS in total defense. Conversely, the much-maligned offense comes in at #49 in total offense, and a very impressive #19 in rushing offense. Is there a single one among us who would have bet $5 this year's Rebel team would feature a TOP 20 rushing game?? And while the Rebel D is pretty good against the run (#34), they are absolutely miserable against the pass, ranking #117 (130 teams total in the FBS). Another interesting difference between the offense and defense is the former ranks #17 in first down yardage, while the D ranks #125 in first down defense. That means opponents spend a lot of time in 2nd- and 3rd-and-short, which is a massive benefit from a strategic/play-calling perspective. There are just so many options in short-yardage situations. And it beats a defense down.
All I'm saying is I don't think we should be booking Rod a trip out of Oxford just yet.

The defense has a great scheme and is missing DBs to make the stops. They are typically in a good scheme they just can’t make the plays or are too slow to keep up with better teams WRs.
The offense is the complete opposite. We have 4-5 star players in all the skill positions and the offensive line is better but we can’t get a QB to throw for 100 yards and we run it up the middle 9/10 times on first down.
