Man this is setting up too perfectly, I hate that the backup LB will have 15 tackles and the backup QB will have his heisman moment this weekend.

We kept an SEC school from scoring a touchdown. Our front 7 absolutely dominated them. Would not have suspected we would do that coming into the season. We will miss Benito next year.

Giving your best weapon the ball isn't a concern when you are winning. Complaining after having 500+ yards is stupid... Pal

Who asked for high praise? It'd just be nice to stop bitching after beating a SEC team and seeing the youth on this team and the future talent making plays.

Mizzou will be a good barometer. They have a good record but have played a really week schedule. Unlike Vandy, they’re gonna throw a lot of downfield shots, but they aren’t as talented as Bama so I dont expect that kind of success.
Key to this game will be generating pressure up front. Bryant isn’t a super impressive passer but if he has time, he can pick us apart.

quote:I’m not complaining about 500 yards of offense you retard. I’m not fricking “ complaining” about winning. I said Plumlee doesn’t need to be carrying it more than our 3 rb’s combined. Some of y’all fans are too fricking dense to accept the slightest bit of criticism after a win because of all the bitching HJJ does but it’s sure as hell warranted. Are you actually okay with our qb taking 20+ hits per game? Winning is nice but let’s not act like having the qb run 20 times is going to beat Alabama or LSU. It works against one of the worst teams in the conference but not against the big boys, “pal”.

The gameplan will be designed to beat Mizzou.

Well for one we aren't talented enough to beat Bama or LSU at this point. You got everything right to critique. I also have every right to ask why the hell does anyone feel the need to critique when we just put up 500 yards of offense.

I think Corral would have gone in if he were completely healthy. I think we see him this week. i also think Plumlee may be keeping the ball too much on the RPO's. he will learn. Their mlb/one of their best defenders out for the game. Ole Miss by 2. The bastards are sucking me back in.

They do it to me every time. Just when I convince myself I don't care and just give up on the season, they make me come back.

Their other lbs are pretty good too. I agree Plumlee has to throw the ball away or go down on those RPOs or he’ll get murdered by the better teams we face. Still hard to find a lot to criticize when we blow an SEC team out.

Plumlee looks great as a runner. I think corral will be back this week and plumlee will play some which will limit his runs and keep him alive the rest of the season. He will get killed running 20+ times a game. I think corral throwing will help open things up for Ealy, Phillips, and Connor. Keep Plumlee ready for a Taysom Hill package. Let him work on passing this summer.

Regardless of the pass issues, this team is Plumlee's until he loses the job.

Plumlee is the starter. Didn’t think this was contested.

Disagree. You had Corral play 4 games and really didn't impress me much in any of them. While he played decent he definitely looked rattled the entire time. You had Plumlee come in cold and take control. While he is definitely a run first quarterback, his throws are more on target than Corral's were, even when he misses. I say you work the gameplan to allow him to throw it more. If he starts looking for the deep ball and not as many flat routes then he can open up this offense even more. But I do not pull him for Corral unless he seriously fricks up and isn't producing.

I would like to see them trot Corral out there as the starter just to put a jolt in the MO defense. And then switch them up as the game develops and we get something going that works.
The bottom line is that Plumlee is like #185 and he will not survive the season running the ball 25 times a game.

I agree with keeping Plumlee in until he can’t handle it anymore. Dak and Tebow didn’t light the world on fire passing especially early on. Not saying Plumlee is on that level, but he’s leading the SEC in rushing in league games as a true freshman. As much as it pains me to say it, rich rod needs to really study how Mullen used both of those QBs who were game changers on the ground but made them dangerous enough through the air that defenses could never sell out in run defense. Teams will eventually go exclusively to cover zero and we will be forced to throw to succeed. I think Plumlee has shown enough on those fades he’s hit that he has the arm to do it.
I think doing packages for corral and Plumlee will be the death of the offense. Defense will just play the pass when corral is in, and play the run when Plumlee is in. Instead of trying to win the game, both QBs will be more worried about winning the job.

I'm with you on the dual QB offense. The second you start game planning with two QBs with different tendencies it won't take long for a DC to adjust his play calling.
Then like you said, they are going to try to outplay each other to prove to the coach that their scheme should be the one to go with more. Not to mention you confuse the o-line because their playing style would have to constantly change depending on which qb is in. And with so many young guys on the line you can't have them doing that.

I’m good with us going all in on Plumlee. I think he’s got a special talent that if developed could be unstoppable with a good offensive line and the RBs we have behind him. I guess we will see if Matt Luke is all in on the kid.
PS I’m glad we have this problem. Having multiple QBs that can play is something I hope we always have issues with. All good programs have this problem.
