With most of the top Mississippi recruits going out of state, doesn’t it
show that perhaps high school coaces are being neglected by the in state
universities ? Perhaps the coaches need to have their compensation somehow
tied to the success of the in state schools.

If college coaches are smart they will do whatever they can to help the high school coaches, whether it’s clinics, help with plays, advice on schemes, etc in the off season. That builds the game up at the high school level and also builds the college coach’s relationship with the high school coaches. I would have all my assistant coaches working with up and coming high school coaches to help them, never know who will be the next head coach at a large 5a or 6a program.

So have we not been doing that or are they just taking “donations” to steer the
best players to Alabama,LSU , Georgia....

Or they see the in state programs aren’t very good and are surrounded by great programs and decide to leave the nest ?

No doubt, but MSU isn’t a program on the rocks. You would expect them to
have more success recruiting with Ole Miss struggling but they aren’t .

State has never been very good at recruiting. Even when Jackie was there. Their boosters aren't as hungry to pay to win like ours are/were

If your 4-5 star recruit was faced with playing for Matt Luke or Nick Saban and he asked your honest opinion what would you say as his coach

I dont want to waste a couple of hours on a saturday to watch a Matt Luke coached football team so a highschool kid not wanting to spend every day for the next 3 years being poorly coached by Matt Luke while losing alot of games vs playing for a good coaching staff on a national championship caliber team does not surprise me
