Yes, but our offense is superior this season. We were a pass only team last season. This year, we are multi-dimensional, so we can hang in a shootout.
Just perusing the box score, we did not run the ball all that well on Saturday, but I figure the potential is there. Lacy still looks slow to me. Not much burst through the gap when he finds one. OL is improving every week, and that’s nice to see.

What's everyone's thoughts on Tulane this season? I haven't watched them play but did see where a talking head on ESPN predicted them to be #12 in the CFP.

That's better than throwing the ball to the other team though, right?
Really stupid question considering I had just posted this. Do better!

Yeah, I missed most of the game due to a wedding but looking at the box score, it's kind of amazing that we won.
Speaking of stats, this is a really useful site:

I feel like Lacy did a great job with his vision at the line and finding holes to gain extra yardage.

We were 8-12 on 3rd down conversions. A 66.7% 3rd down conversion rate has to be the highest for us in a SEC game in years. I'm too lazy to verify.

I’m just going from the first couple of games. I’ll have to watch the game from Saturday. I was out of pocket and couldn’t. He’s definitely a more rounded back than we’re used to.

Lacy looks great. Nice pick up from Mizzou.

I hope you bros didn't convince yourself there was even a chance we'd get the ABC night game over Bama at Georgia.

Highest third-down conversion percentage in SEC play under Kiffin (minimum 10 attempts):
1. 2022 Vanderbilt - 72.7% (8/11)
2. 2025 Arkansas - 66.7% (8/12)
3. 2020 Florida - 64.3% (9/14)
4. 2020 Auburn - 62.5% (10/16)

While maybe part of it also, bama/Georgia I believe was slated preseason as the prime time game for that week. Plus Oregon/penn state is a 6:30 kick as well . They aren’t gonna put 3 top 15 matchups at the same time. That’s bad for ratings for everyone .
Made sense to clear it out and give us the 2:30.

OR Bama and Georgia - two of the three biggest brands in this conference - are playing a rare game in Athens and ABC wants to maximize eyeballs.
Also . . .

2020 Texas A&M (L, 28-7)
2020 Florida (W, 37-34)
2021 Alabama (L, 20-14)
2022 Auburn (W, 21-17)
2022 Florida (W, 45-35)
2022 Texas A&M (L, 38-23)
2023 Ole Miss (L, 55-49)
2023 Alabama (L, 42-28)

Wow, so you’re telling me the one time that played a night game at VHS against Kiffin they lost? And now that they’re ranked in the top 3 they aren’t playing a night game because they could get beat? (6 L 4 W according to your stats).
I get that bama Georgia is going on at the same time, but I think it’s more than a little bit ridiculous to have a potential top 10 matchup in an actual rivalry game, not just a conference foe game (like bama uga) be moved to the afternoon slot.

He's from Alabama - I think this is actually his first year/season in Louisiana.
