He'll get back to regularly scheduled programming before long.

Freeze is doing well at Auburn because Auburn has top 10 facilities, has played in multiple national championships in the BCS era and Jimmy Rane has a nice check book at Freeze's disposal. Auburn has had top 10 recruiting classes 8 times since 2010, what he is doing there now isn't anything extraordinary. If you want to praise Freeze for doing things under the table and getting a Sugar Bowl, fine, but remember that Kiffin got to a sugar bowl in his 2nd year without us ending up with a bowl ban to follow.

Well said.

Agreed. Auburn is a top program with a lot to offer and, for the first time in a long time, the fanbase feels unified. Freeze is also a tremendous recruiter even despite the allegations of illegal dealings.

Trever Jackson 2024 QB out of Florida will be committing this week over A&M and Pittsburgh

Noreel White 2024 ATH from the coast committed to Arkansas will be flipping this week too

Both 4 stars

It’s not out yet, but unfortunately Kam Beavers got a DUI, no license, and no headlights the other night. He’s arguably our best recruit in this class. I don’t expect them to drop him from talking to people on the team but it’s something to watch out for

What are the coaches saying about our chances with Kam Franklin. I think Joyner & Golding could turn him into a beast of a DT.

What’s going on with in state recruiting given the size of our NIL, we only have 2 of the top 10 committed??

#1 Franklin skipping Juice Fest seems like he’s not coming to Ole Miss.

Any shot at flipping #2 Waller?

#4 Harrel #7 Burnside #8 Hibbler are all committed to State along with the #6 OL Jimothy Lewis.

#6 Hill and #9 Daniels are both looking to go out of state.

Looks like we might get #10 Noreel White but he still hasn’t committed for whatever reason.

#11 through #22 are all committed to other schools.

And we took commitments from #23 #24 #25 #32 #34

And currently Stanford has as many top 20 commitments in Mississippi as
Ole Miss does.

What the frick is going on?

Sure does look like a Tenn/Aub battle.

Not happening unless something major changes. That’s why they went after the DE from Louisiana late that ended up going to A&M. Momentum was on Tennessee but now auburn thinks they have him in the bag. I like our d-line situation at the moment. Jamarious Brown from Moss Point had committable offers from Bama LSU and Auburn and chose us. He’ll be a freshman this year and I’m very excited about him. Forget Franklin he wants to leave the state so be it

Not sure how true it is but Kiffin hasn’t made a lot of friends among the high school coaches in the state.

signs certainly aren't pointing towards it. Not sure what the deal is. But it's also the job of the assistants to recruit in state.

I have a theory that Kiffin's approach to recruiting is "why waste resources and NIL money on a HS kid who you aren't totally sure will stay here when we can just use that money on a more developed sophomore?" Not saying I totally agree with it but I can certainly see the reasoning if that's the case.

I agree with you and Pank.
Probably hasn’t won many friends but he’s also not an arse kisser which is what some of these high school coaches want. Gotta be tough to recruit a kid if his HS coach hates you.

Also I think with the transfer portal and the one free transfer, half of these kids who go out of state will end up transferring before their senior year. And it’s actually better to get a guy who has already used up their transfer year because now you know you’ve got him locked in.

Kiffin was ahead of the game with the transfer portal maybe he’s ahead of the game with HS recruiting. Seems like we’re taking a ton of developmental guys who probably don’t mind waiting their turn at an SEC school. And a few blue chips.

But still kind of a downer given how much we’ve stepped up our commitment to NIL.

Lane told Austin Simmons family that he’s “probably not going anywhere” and that infuriated a lot of his own staff. How do you expect to land recruits when our coach won’t even tell them he’s fully committed to the school. I mean at least fricking lie man lol

I would prefer him not to be here if he won’t even fully commit to the job. MS high school coaches are running with that narrative and it’s paying dividends

Logic would say Kiffin’s perceived lack of commitment is being used against us by our main in-state rival considering their lead in the recruitment of the top in-state players. And I say this because they were teed up for a slaughter by what should be a far more stable OM program compared to their young coach with no head coaching experience and all new coordinators, etc. etc. It would appear, however, we are once again failing to capitalize on a golden opportunity to create real separation between the two programs.

What are we hearing on the QB battle front? I know Kiffin had said Dart has improved a lot this off-season. Is he still comfortably leading the race?

How is this even a thing with the new contract?

How is it possible? You tell me. He was the 11th highest paid coach in college football before he held us hostage last fall.

Another 10-win season and trip to the Sugar Bowl and we're doing this dance again.

I would think so. Not sure how long the leash is if turnovers become an issue.

I would hope we have a big buyout clause if he decides to jump. News flash: Ole Miss is not a top five coaching destination for the coaching community.
