Big time! I didn’t think we really had a shot but I like our staffs ability to hold onto him.

Height can sometimes be a point of diminishing return… easier to get leverage on them as an OL

That being said, I’ll take it and figure that variable out later lol

Wasn't state recruiting him as an OL or was that another DL in the state?

Yeah I think it's another DL.

Watch his tape and it doesn’t seem to be an issue for him. Plus his wingspan is like NBA level. His ability to not allow OL to latch on, shed blockers and reach out to make the tackle is pretty darn impressive. Just look at the number of tackles he is making as a DL. It is like a LB number. Will be interested to see how he fairs against SEC level competition.

State was recruiting Clayton as an OL

Harris is Raekwon Davis 2.0 athletically but smarter.

Actually from my perspective the only comparable thing between Davis & Harris is the size. My boys played Raekwon and he had no impact on the game because he “stood up” and was easily blocked. Harris has much better technique, is more athletic and doesn’t disappear.

Raekwon Davis was extremely athletic which is the comparison I’m making. HS production doesn’t mean much.

Trust me, I had two kids play against him Raekwon. Harris is much more agile and doesn’t get man handled like Raekwon did in HS (because he would stand straight up and smaller OL would leverage him out of plays).

Utah center Orlando Umana is transferring to us all PAC 10 one year and looks like it’s a good thing to move Brown to guard.
