What do you guys think of QB next year. Assuming Lane sticks around,, Idk If any of the back up QB’s could be great in Lanes system. The transfer portal might really help with a team like ours.

I trust Lane to develop them. Anyone that says we should go after Spencer Rattler needs to be kicked in the nuts repeatedly

Lane's gonna have to work the portal hard. We lose more than just Corral next year.

1 DL commit right now. Are we "in the lead" for any others?

We took 6 last year I think. We need LBers more than anything. Would love some stand-up DEs that can drop into coverage if need be so we could transition to a 5-2-4. That would make us multiple and handle passing while battling the running game.

I wonder why people keep saying “assuming Lane sticks around”. Honestly why would he leave this year? He isn’t going back to USC and LSU….only a moron would touch that job with everything going on down there.

In regards to talent I have a feeling Lane and his staff are the best true coaches Ole Miss has had in a very long time. I mean if Lane can take Simms and make him look all world I have no doubt he and his staff will plug and play.

If Spencer Rattler transfers we will be one of the finalist because all of the big college football programs have their QB returning next year. I think the transfer portal is gonna be insane this year. I think the days of guys waiting 3 or 4 years to start are gonna slowly fade away in college sports.

The transfer portal

Myles Brennan may be looking to return home to Mississippi. He's been oft injured and didn't have the fortune to start at LSU under Joe Brady. I could see him have a breakout year in a functional spread offense.

Rattler at OM would be pretty fascinating and certainly the talk of the town. I could see it being a smash hit or, well, something else. We'd certainly get our share of haters hating, but what else is new? Part of the problem with him at OU is his hesitancy to run and our offense is definitely better when the QB is a threat to run.

And what about Arch last night? Talk about haters hating.

Rattler at Ole Miss would give me flash backs to Jeremiah Masoli.

On a DL note:

quote:

Zxavian Harris, DL, Germantown: Had 15 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery in the Mavericks 37-28 loss to Oxford.

So a DL had 15 tackles…..that is incredible if you stop and think about it!

Rattler has PreMadonna all over him but, if he has a hope of making the NFL a coach like Kiffin might be his last chance if he blows his OK gig. Unless we have a real sleeper coming in Kiffin may have to roll the dice a bit.

He was pretty much shut down and they lost 12-7. Sarkisian was at the game.

I agree. Kiffin went 5-5 last year and finished fifth in the west. Ole Miss would almost need to win out for him to get serious consideration from the type of school that would lure him away.

The only thing that might sway Kiffin would be talent. Recruiting is not exactly stellar at this point and while I have confidennce in Kiffin his staff don't appear to be raking it in. We are losing a lot after this season. In other words, if he had an opportunity at a place with talent, an easier schedule and money would he be interested?

I think probly not but who know the mind of Kiffin?

A ways to go in this cycle, but we definitely aren’t blowing the doors off on the recruiting thing.
