i haven’t been happy about a UF football hire for about 15 years now I’m used to, and expect, not being happy with who we hire

Why did y'all fire Mullen? He seems to be a pretty good coach?

he pissed off boosters, wouldn’t fire Todd Grantham despite historically bad defenses that led him to going 13-10 in his last two seasons at Florida, recruiting class was in the 80s and getting worse when he got fired, and he got us in trouble (show cause) with recruiting. He also apparently was ready to take an nfl job in the off season before he got fired and seemed completely checked out after he didn’t get it.

That makes sense. Lane has the reputation but Mullen has the reality by always seeming to have one foot out the door.

Lane has the reputation because it was the first impression he made by leaving Tennessee after one year for his dream job USC.

Besides that he’s been pretty stable, staying a few years at G5 FAU, finding success and moving up to the SEC where he’s been at ole Miss for 6 years.

For context urban Meyer spent as much time at Florida as lane would have in Oxford if he ends up leaving this year (and if he stays at OM he’d be at ole Miss for as long as urban spent at Ohio state after the 2026 season is completed).

Jedd fisch jumps around like a fisch out of water but you rarely hear anyone hold that against him.

IMO lane gets a bad Wrap for a lot of things he did when he was in his 30’a but if you look at him after the Saban rehab it seems like he’s moved on from those habits.

Yet many other coaches like Dan Mullen, Lincoln Riley, and Jeff fisch tend to actually do the things that lane has a reputation for, yet they aren’t saddled with the same stigma nearly as bad

and it goes to show how toxic or unappealing of a hire he must be considering he couldn’t get out of Miss state until Stricklin got desperate enough to hire him after whiffing on Chip Kelly and Scott frost, and then ending up at unlv where he’s trying to get any interest possible but no serious bites.

With this year's coaching vacancies, he's going to get some interest.

I think there is a flip side to this coin and it's Mullen was pretty damn selective.

that is possible. I just always heard a lot of rumors about how he interviewed for Miami and they’re bored to trustees thought he was an idiot and that he bombed all his interviews with the NFL and that’s why he would never get hired.

Spread currently at 13.5. Should settle in at 14 by the weekend. Does Lagway even draw the start after his performance in Lexington ?

I think (i.e. hope) that trammel jones gets the start. Not that I actually give a shite about winning either way since this season is beyond cooked, I just never want to see DJ Fagway play a single down at Florida ever again

The Florida media today asking the Florida interim coach about Lane taking his job was awkward. Curious if that gets him to show up or if he's just fully off his game now.

When was the last time Ole Miss was favored by two touchdowns over Florida? Ever?

What is our average point differential against SEC opponents under Kiffin? Plus 2.5? No more than plus 3.5 I wouldn't think.

Take the points.

Meh, we handle business and we'll end up the 5 seed.

Yeah, we control our own destiny. Hell, if the chips fell the right way, we could even end up in Atlanta, but I doubt it. Crazy that at 11-1 we still wouldn't make it to ATL. WAOM

In the current set-up a bye week is more valuable.
