Weiss isn’t going to tank the playoffs for the same reason players and coaches in the NFL don’t tank for draft picks: on a personal and professional level they want to win more than anything else. You have to in order to put as much time and effort into their jobs.
Even Lane as petty as he is would have absolutely done his best to win playoff games - the problem is he would have been sabotaging the rest of the program during the week.

Yes I get Dave was being a smart arse but do you not think letting Charlie jr. coach us through the playoffs while under contract makes Kieth (The Leader of our Program) look desperate?

We are desperate. Who was going to call plays? This is an odd situation to be in. There’s no point in putting on a front.

Seeing some Rumors that Pete may bring Ron Roberts in as DC?
Pete's first DC job was at SELU where Ron was the HC. So they do have a history together

I don’t know enough about him. Is this good?

Didn't know that - knew the SELU connection. Seems like a fairly likely outcome then.

He's taught a lot of really good defensive coaches (Dava Aranda, Pete, couple guys coaching in the NFL). Most recently has been DC at Baylor, Auburn, and Florida. No idea how those stops view him though.

He is going to do well and have a head coaching job by 2027. Relax relax relax

This makes me think Charlie is going to make the leap and take on one of the many AAC head coaching jobs that have opened up after OM's playoff run comes to an end. Am I reading it completely wrong ? Have all those vacancies been filled already ? No way

He could do that.. Give a few weeks away from Lane.. He could stay or try for one of them jobs too

Also, the biggest knock against Charlie has been that it is really just Lane’s offense. Big risk, but if he wins a playoff game or two without Lane that boosts him way up the coaching ladder.

The last time he was an OC without Lane over him was when he was at USF. And his offenses were ranked in the triple digits

Anway we can bring an Autist in to watch over Charlie for the playoffs?

I saw Memphis promoted Reggie Howard from DC to interim for the bowl game. Perfect landing spot for a new HC like CWJr after season ends.

I feel vindicated with all the players speaking out against Kiffin tonight on X and the playoff committee bumping us up a spot.
Finally fresh air
