Yeah, no one thought he was getting fired because Kiffin has all the leverage there until he signs with another school.
It just makes no sense that Kiffin thinks this will make him look good or that Keith thinks this is better than publicly announcing we’re looking at new coaches. The distraction for players has already happened. No putting the cat back in the bag

KC is not a bitch he is playing the hand he has like Chris Moneymaker. We are going to kick arse in Starkville and depending on this weekend and next - probably draw a bye in the playoffs.

Is Neal McCready pretty legitimate?!? He’s a name I know that’s been around OM for awhile but unsure of his ties. Anyway, his melt update is something else. If it’s true Lane is absolutely finished and called the bluff.

Guys, it's just a very nice and classy move of Keith to give Lane an extra week to figure out if he wants to go Florida or LSU. Also, students won't be in Oxford Friday or Saturday so Lane can leave Oxford quietly and peacefully unlike when he left UT.
In all honesty, Keith better be pretty sure of this gamble or it's all on him now. The only way this works out well for Keith is we win this game and Kiffin announces he's staying and always planned to, but didn't want to jinx this game like last time. If we win and he leaves, you gave the guy going to coach our rival an extra week to recruit Lacy, etc... to LSU. And then the committee will penalize us by dropping us down to where we don't host or maybe don't make it at all. And, Sumrall might have already moved on. If we lose and he leaves, he has completely fricked us, which as the coach of LSU is probably a big part of his job description. From there, the program is the laughingstock of the country. You let your employee troll you for weeks and then screw you in the worst way possible. I don't know how the fans, boosters, players, or any coaches can actually respect you given the national embarrassment of that moment. Hope Keith knows what he's doing.

He said unless everyone is lying Lane is absolutely going to be the next head coach at LSU and will be in Baton Rouge by next week. Real estate speculation is real and the LSU board has his contract approved. Said there is a lot more that he can’t divulge yet.
He said he might stay but the damage done is real. Plus Ole Miss potentially losing a rivalry game and the head coach leaving is gutting to the committee.

Neal isn’t great with Ole Miss sources, but I think he does well nationally. Chase has more of the Ole Miss centric takes. But we can all see what this is. It’s not hard to figure out.

Lane is as good as gone. If he were staying, they wouldn't be pissing off the entire fanbase. I'm just glad we know now that he's leaving - hate it for the team he's abandoning. We're gonna play like shite next Friday - if the coach isn't "in", the players sure won't be.
