Defense has been shaky to start the season. Hope we clean some of this up.

Yeah, I’d rather them not do that.

It's embarrassing.... we have a way of making ourselves look the fool in athletics from time to time though. Not surprising

Do we not do what every other team in any sports do and announce it by tickets sold? Not amount of butts in seats?

That being said I have no idea. Just assumed that’s what it was.

Every school announced via tickets sold. That's how it's always been.

It’s still very early in the season, but the number of errors concerns me a little bit.

Also, why does it seem like we never try to throw people out at the plate? I thought Graham had a shot to throw their 3 hole hitter out in the first inning yesterday, but, like always, we just lazily throw the ball to Gonzo and let the runner score standing up.

We only had one putout from the outfield on a laser throw by JRP. Wish we would be a bit more aggressive on defense when it comes to putouts. Other coaches notice this and tell their players to be aggressive on the base paths since we probably aren’t looking to put them out anyways.

Doubt they play today.

It’s a miserably cold and rainy day here

I'm surprised they won't try a double header tomorrow.

The infield is suspect. I’ll chalk it up to freezing weather.

I feel like every team we have played so far either walks a billion guys, makes horrible errors or does some sort of combination. We really won't know how good we are until the first SEC series...kind of wish we had opened with a ranked opponent like Louisville a few years back

I mean in all honestly that doesnt give much of an idea either.

Long Beach State opened the season taking 2 out of three against State, then went on to get swept this past weekend at home against Sacramento State.

Playing a bigger named school to start just makes people overreact one way or the other based on the results.

My outlook is play a bunch of scrub OOC games. Tally those wins up then you are 40 wins on the season and trying to host and such. We play in the SEC all of the talented weekend series are coming. Why play better teams that you have a higher risk of dropping to. Play the trash early. Build the confidence hitting and pitching and roll with it into SEC play.

Just my outlook. I know there are gaps for people to argue other points of view.
