What was that graphic Ole Miss Baseball posted before the season of all the returning offensive production from last season? It's amazing how hot and cold they can be. We either win by 10 or we lose by 10

Hopefully our bats pick up where the left off on Sunday.

If we can win the next two conference series (against Bama in Oxford and Columbia against the Cocks), we will be sitting pretty going into the meat of our conference schedule.

Looks like us hitting will be more of an outlier than not hitting.

At this point in the season so far at least, we don’t battle at the plate. Far too many Ks and too many weak ground balls and pop flies on hittable pitches. Getting close to just being who we are.

Guess we just didn’t take the eagles seriously

That’s the line we use now when we lose right, players ?

Inconsistent teams are not good teams. We are an inconsistent team.

14 hits and 10 runs given up to Southern Miss is unacceptable. Sweep Bama this weekend and I might feel better about this team. Anything less than a sweep is unacceptable after tonight.

We are the definition of mediocre this year. I doubt we even host a regional.

To me, the most concerning thing is only scraping across 6 hits in 9 innings against Southern. They are a good team, but our offense was supposed to be one of the best units in the country.

That's an overreaction, but I'm not surprised to see it coming from you.

If we can win the next two series, we will be at 8-6 in the conference, which should be enough to get us in second place in the west.

Southern can rake. They're a top 20 team. I'm not suprised they hit our poor pitching. I'm surprised we didn't hit their pitching.

We are too aggressive at the plate and have been since probably 2018. Here is a list of our outs where we didn't have at least four pitches on the count:
- 1st inning, Harris flies out on an 0-0 count
- 1st inning, Bench fouls out on an 0-0 count
- 2nd inning, Elko has a three-pitch K
- 2nd inning, Chatagnier has a three-pitch K
- 4th inning, Leahterwood grounds out on a 2-1 count
- 5th inning, Chatagnier fouls out on an 0-0 count
- 6th inning, Elko grounds into a double play on an 0-1 count
- 7th inning, Chatagnier flies out on a 1-0 count (it was a sacrifice fly, in his defense)
- 9th inning, Dunhurst flies out on a 1-0 count
- 9th inning, Harris pops out on a 1-1 count

10/27, more than a third of our total outs, happen with less than three pitches in an AB. This has been going on for too long. It's too feast or famine. We don't work pitching staffs and we aren't patient at the plate.

Chatagnier is the worst about this. I looked it up. Since conference play started, he has recorded 18 outs before there were four pitches on the count. He routinely flies out on the first pitch. He has done this since mid-last season.

Ultimately falls on the coaching staff. How can that not be fixed by this point????

You're aware of the "definition of insanity" right?

I don't mind being aggressive at the plate. We also had a stretch where we would purposely watch the first strike and get behind on every batter.

You're either a good hitting team or you're not.

We look to be not.

I’m hoping it’s as simple as we don’t have our best hitter in KG right now. Word is he could possible play this weekend if not forsure next. Seems like guys like Elko are just pressing a little too much at the plate. Hope KG relieves some of that.

Defensively I can’t believe what I’m watching. They haven’t been this bad defensively in a while. It cost Diamond a chance at a really good outing and potentially the result on Tuesday.

Hard to point fingers at position coaches when we are bad at every aspect of the game.

But we sucked so bad before Bianco. We should be on our knees blowing him for getting us to Omaha once in 22 years

Guys... I think USM enlightened me this past week. Nothing really matters with Bianco, and we won't go too far into the playoffs. Acceptance is the first step (and drinking)

Our defense is absolutely pathetic. It is little league quality.
