The real truth is this...neither school is ever going to really distance itself from the other. Hasn't happened since the '60s and it won't now. In 2011 State fans were saying the same over confident shite y'all were saying last summer. We lost in 2012 and we're humbled and y'all were humbled last November and now in recruiting. With good staffs, which we both have, this is going to be an almost yearly cycle.

WTF are you talking about. It's July. How are we being humbled? I hope you don't mean by that class you guys are putting together. It's no different then you guys past few classes. Full of 3 star recruits.

Ole Miss isn't trying to separate itself from MSU. Our focus isn't on MSU. Our goal is to win the SEC West. Not to beat MSU.

Way to miss the forest for the trees

Should have worded that differently but you missed the point. And you can save the "we don't care about MSU" for the fantasy land board. Everyone is trying to win the west, what's your point.

While he doesn't communicate it well, there is a point to what he is trying to say.

We have 15-19 schollys to give this year, and frankly, MSU and OM aren't recruiting 10 guys head to head. 3, 4, 5 maybe... but we aren't going head to head for a ton of guys like usual.

This means we have a chance, come Feb., to have a great class as well as State. This year in particular I see no reason why both schools can't get what they need.

I want a star studded class too, don't get me wrong, but if we can find 10 guys that go on to contribute out of this small class. It will be a success for both schools. A slight down year in recruiting when we have to be very selective is not the worst as long as we find contributors. Next year could be a banner year for us, again.

It'll take a failed coaching change or NCAA sanctions for a school to gain any distance. They gained distance when the NCAA came down on us for the Sherrill years and we gained it back from the whole Nutt fiasco. It will be back and forth until one of the above situations happens again.

I think the separation will become more noticeable as Ole Miss continues to stack top 15-20 classes on top of each other while State pulls in the occasional top 20 class. Depth will be the deciding factor going forward.

A Tennessee beat writer just predicted Ordway to Ole Miss. Coincidence?

They have been hinting at this by questioning his ability to play corner. I guess giving the Vols an excuse. Hopefully we hear some criticisms on Richmond here shortly.

2016 related but LSU offered Shea Patterson yesterday... And then offered his brother a job today.

That'd be big time.. He'll be tough to hang on to all the way to signing day but if we can hold off schools for a lock down DB like Webster our coaches can do the same with Ordway.

Anybody think we have a legitimate shot at McMillan? There was article today with him saying Ole Miss didn't have any cons.
