What does that have to do with a judge crossing a line here? I'm not a judge.

Man, that would suck if the kid was originally
Jehovah
Witness
Protection
Program
and the judge blew their cover.

If she had been muslim, the current administration would be defending her actions. Thanks Obama. Amirite?

Then don't ask smarmy questions that aren't really related to the story.
And FWIW, I'm not shallow enough that a friend naming their kid something stupid (because lord knows all kinds of people do these days) would keep me from being friends with them.

OK, there is so much wrong with this I scarcely know where to start!
The parents couldn't decide on what the child's last name should be, which was the purpose of this hearing in the first place. The first name wasn't even in question - that was solely the judge's call.
Then you have the fact that Messiah is #4 on the list of fastest rising popular baby names, according to the Social Security Administration. What is wrong with people?!?
And if Judge Ballew is white, you could have a racial element to this case too.
This judge way overstepped her authority here. She can't rename a child just becasue she doesn't like his name. I see this being overturned.
Here's a link, with a little more information...

Should religious people really be allowed in powerful offices? I mean if you can believe in religion, you must be far to gullible to serve our nation properly.

If they had been responsible adults, they would be married and had the same name to begin with and there would be no issue.
