If you're looking at a teaching job, it's just about minimum you have an UG degree in whatever subject you are wanting to teach, plus a master's in education.

You can be a football coach and teach history. Why not just major in football coaching.

Without graduate work your options are limited. Certainly you can get a job in secondary education. Teaching middle school and high school may be rewarding for you, but, as I'm sure you know, the money is not very good.
Some archives hire History undergrads for archivist positions, but mostly they are going to take MAs.
My advice: If you are going into History you need to consider getting at LEAST an MA. That opens up many more positions, such as adjuncting and full-time lecturing at 2 year colleges.
Even better advice, plan on getting your PhD.
Worked for me.

You should get a teaching degree then, because otherwise you'll probably have to get an alternative teaching certification anyway. You're never going to be rich, but I think it would a great career. I almost went into teaching myself, but ultimately decided against it.
The time off is what really attracted me, since I love to travel. You can tutor to supplement your income... Or you might be able to teach a few classes at a local junior college if you have a master's.

I'm a history major. You should pursue a doctorate so that you can become a professor. Or double major in education and teach high school history/coach football.

History.. Thought about it myself.. Then found out how hard it was to get a good job and dropped it.. Good luck though

History by itself is a pretty worthless degree, IMO.
Go to graduate school or double major with something more marketable or you'll be wasting money on that degree

Don't waste your money on some useless / easy degree. Join the military.

Teaching isn't bad.
You can hustle in the summer and make a decent living or just chill and coast.
Some states have better retirement benefits than others. But teaching is getting pretty competitive as well. Breaking into the field isn't as easy as it used to be. My wife gets about 200-300 applications for every open position she has.
