Nothing. The usps is a slow sinking ship since electronic mail.
Read my mind. Thought the only way is if they find a way to tax(charge postage) on each email sent.

Honestly I don't get why ppl even use the post office anymore.
Because I ship 20 packages per week through them.

At a minimum get rid of Saturday delivery (which Congress is continuing to force on the USPS).

For years I have observed my Saturday mail comes much earlier than the other days of the week.
Obvious question: why is that?

Why does the post office need to be profitable?

I would clean motherfricking house and then hire back about 1/2 to 3/4 the number of staff back without the ridiculous salaries and benefits; hire people that are actually willing to work for a living instead of sitting on their asses all day. In short, if you actually ran it like a business instead of a charity, it'd likely be fine.

The USPS is also used for legal purposes that you cannot use UPS/FedEx at this rate. Anything that we send certified to parents through school (i.e. Final Notices for truancy, contacting parents who refuse answer calls/doors at home visits, etc) has to go through USPS. Majority of your court documents that are sent certified mail is through USPS and has a legal baring. Despite having an email messaging system through the district I work with, we still have to send mail correspondence because not everyone has at home internet access to a personal email (don't get me started on my disagree with this).
Paper mail is still needed. If for no other reason then we at schools can't send a lot of info via email for confidentiality reasons.

I haven't mailed something through USPS since I was about 13. Though to be fair it's probably been 3-5 years since I mailed anything at all.
TBH I hate USPS because I got into a fist fight with my mail man when I was 17. He was a dick that talked shite to my mother.

Your still being short sighted.
USPS offers shipping rates that no other carrier does. Which answers your question of why anyone would use them.
Not every paper bill or letter can be sent electronically. Which is another reason. It's not just about what YOU do.

maybe if they did, they wouldn't be losing 20+ million a day

They do. Which is why people use them.
No other carrier offers flat rate shipping. Which saves customers thousands on shipping.
If you don't understand this topic because you don't like your mailman, you should probably just bow out of this thread.

I meant, maybe they should charge what other carriers do. Like I said they are losing $25 million a day. That's outrageous

My mail comes late as hell everyday. They delivered it at 7:45 the other night. Is that a little much?

There were two separate things. What can they do to be profitable. I said nothing. Their workers will never be profitable
Two was that you have no idea why people use them. I gave the reason along with Belle
