Here's what my high school freshman is fighting tonight:

You have 2, 3, & 6. You need to use those numbers to get either 8 or 10. Can't use decimals and can't be negative. Ideas? You can only use the numbers once.

2^(6-3) = 8

What do I win?

(Square root of 36) + 2 = 8

Don't have the square root symbol available on here.

NP.

BTW the 6-3 isn't necessary, but I wasn't sure if I also needed to use all of the numbers.

If I can use other numbers:

(3+2)*(6-4)=10

Can only use each number once. I assume you meant (3^2)+3-2=10

So the problem doesn't say if you can use them 0 times.

2+6=8

throw away the 3 because it's a stupid number
