It irks me that most workplaces will punish you if you make a dog-turd sandwich and plant it for the thief to take. Or so a friend told me.

I don't even eat my girlfriend's leftovers, I can't imagine taking someone's food at the office.

So you're a lesbian?

Saying "thank you" before the other person even responds isn't a sign of respect, parents do that to children. "Can you take out the trash? Thank you." I would never thank a person before they even had the chance to respond.

Nepotism and favoritism is the worst.

Yeah, I didn't make it nearly as clear as I should have. There are ways to say it, like if someone is clearly in a hurry and drops a: "Hey, gotta go! Can you please give me X? Thanks!"
Not: "Give me X, thanks." *Walks off.*
And to PNW:
I actually haven't run into it too much in my life, but the times I did see it it was excruciating. Nothing is worse in the workplace than being the subordinate of someone unworthy.

To me, you wait for someone to say "sure" before you thank them for something and it just really, really irks me.
Similar thing at my job, a higher-up in a group e-mail will ask if Stonehog can do something, and then my boss will say "of course Stonehog can do that," without even asking me or knowing my schedule.

Have you ever gotten in trouble because you had to choose between which task to complete?

Laziness. I admit that I am a workaholic and probably take my job to serious but people who expect to lounge around all day while not doing much work are the worst. I know that everybody doesn't have my work ethic but damn, get off your arse and earn your pay check at least.

All the time.

Just like Data said Laziness. I have an employee that wants to sit around for hours every morning and play on his phone and then bitch about every task he is given. The entitlement society has got to stop.

If they’re hourly and not doing any/much work, it’s easily bothersome. Riding the clock.

Lazy salesmen who are essentially just order takers, especially the older ones. I just cant wrap my head around how they have been so successful, yet do so little selling or helping customers.
People that claim their boss or managers are micro-managers without understanding the concept of the term
I am in a small office, so people that dont do their part or help in the everyday task. For instance refusing to answer phone if the main person is on the phone, refusing to help clean, etc...

We have a swing route UPS guy sometimes, all the other drivers call him "clock-sucker" He will deliver to a place to meet each of the required delivery times for said package, even though all packages are on the truck. For instance, he delivers the early am next day 8:30 package, then the 10 am morning next day, then the Air savers, then the normal packages, even though they are all on the truck at 830

I can't stand this anywhere, but I can't seem to escape people that noisily eat. I had to get up and close my office door because an ex-coworker would chew so loudly I could hear him 3 doors down.
On-Site right now and it also drives me insane that no one cleans up after themselves, or gets extra coffee/copy paper from storage. They will make 5 trips to check if someone got it, but wont walk 100 yards to ask for it themselves.
And yes, I know bad manners and immaturity comes with the territory of construction management
I will have to remember that point of view on the thank you following a question. I have used it before but it wasn't malicious.

The phrase: "That isn't in my job description"

Brrrrooooo, not to take this to a dark place but my dog died a terrible, slow death with mange and so she used to scratch (chew) constantly, so anytime I hear anyone eating loudly or even those sloppy kisses in public something triggers inside me and I have to go. I think this is my most hated pet-peeve.

I think it's really subjective, though. Like I don't have a problem if you're clearly in a hurry and you don't even have time for a response -- there are jobs that necessitate that you move quickly.
But if you're sipping your coffee casually and not even bothering to look at the person, I just think it's a lack of respect.

I work in a law office. I can’t stand bad grammar in documents.
