The problem is tied up in the story of yesteryear, but that's not the problem. It's that Israel has the power and uses it to completely destroy their economy. Keeps putting settlements passed currently agreed upon lines. So taking their land. They don't get a say in any of this, but of course lobbing missles. That's not to say trying to kill Israeli civilians is remotely acceptable, but what the frick do you expect when you do those sorts of things to people of a different ethnicity and religion?
The story driving the narrative keeps the mistrust and divide ever growing, and the Palestinians aren't that trustworthy...but it just justify Israel's actions and role in keeping the violence going.
That's all perfectly acceptable for so many of you, because all Muslims are bad and want to eliminate Israel and America. The reality is that most people want to just live their lives, but it can never be that simple with people. The hate creates more hate. Being critical of Hamas and Palestine is reasonable, but one should at least be as critical of their dance partner in this long stupid dance of death.

And your "country" definition is a convenient pile of bullshite. There was no Palestinian "country", no matter what definition you want to make up. There were plenty of Jews and Christians living in the British Mandatory Palestine before '48. When the Muslims didn't get their way, many of them left. And 66 years later they're still bitching at the rest of the world and murdering droves over their own decision.

1 question, if I may:
If these so-called "Palestinians" are anything but a generic collection of Arabs from all over the rest of the Arab world and if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, then why did they never try to become an independent and sovereign nation until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat in the Six Day War in 1967?
