ROTFLMAO! Trump and conservatives don't support it either, and Trump used Floyd's name to pump up his job numbers, showing a complete lack of any empathy.

so we can still keep rioting and looting but we can't get a drink in a bar....amirite!

Both of those States got antsy around Spring Break and wanted to rush to reopen to jumpstart the economy in their State and have made things worse, had they merely held the line for a little bit longer and encouraged wearing Masks , they might be in a different situation

Except cases are also jumping in the states that went full crazy hard lockdowns also.

Lockdowns don't work.

Numbers are way down in Virginia despite higher testing numbers. We locked down as much as the average state and opened along federal guidelines much earlier than most states.

There’s a certain amount of personal responsibility to blame. We’re about to enter phase 3 next week.

Correct. So 1/3 of the ICU beds are full with Covid. They have prepped to take in a surge because more are coming. It’s not good. The curve will need to be flattened at select places in order to avoid problems at hospitals.

But when you look at who’s getting it and what their survival rate is, it’s not the worst news in the world.

I’m not trying to take some hard-line stance. I see the data and draw my own logical conclusions. We don’t want to overrun hospitals but we can’t shut down the economy again for something that doesn’t kill at a high rate for most. Fine line to walk.

What point do masks serve if the person wearing one isn't coughing or sneezing?

UT football might just be the first P5 to throw in the towel for the season. Florida Gata might be the first SEC program. Makes me sick but we're going to have to accept the realization college football might now happen this year in any real aspect.

Welp. Florida has closed it's bars. This shite is done, Boys.

You don’t have to cough or sneeze for droplets to come out of your mouth.

Because you can still spread respiratory droplets by breathing and talking, albeit not as many or as far as coughing and sneezing. And if you have symptoms, you start becoming contagious 2 days before symptoms start. And you can still be contagious if you have the virus and are asymptomatic.

As far as the masks not working, remember that hair salon in Missouri that opened up and both of the workers in the salon had covid while seeing 140 customers? Both workers didn't realize they had the virus but were wearing masks the whole time. None of their customers were infected.

People ignore stories like these. I dont understand “masks” being the hill some people choose to die on(pun sorta intended).

Let’s say wearing a mask doesn’t help whatsoever. Worst outcome is oh well you wore a mask. This is one of the most pansy-assed things people have been crying over.

He never called the virus a hoax.
I said that he called the situation. (of concern over the virus) a hoax, which he did on February 28 at a rally in N.C.
quote:

I believe he actually said he was hopeful.
I think the Nostradamus-like foresight of this quote from Febuary 10 speaks for itself: "“Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away. I hope that’s true. But we’re doing great in our country. China, I spoke with President Xi, and they’re working very, very hard. And I think it’s going to all work out fine.”
quote:

What? All I see are Democrats up in arms because he blames China for the virus which is "racist" apparently.

Tweet from January 24: "China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”
quote:

Again, I believe he said he hoped to.

Tweet from March 24:
quote:

“Easter is a very special day for me. And I see it sort of in that timeline that I’m thinking about. And I say, wouldn’t it be great to have all of the churches full?”
Fauci later stated that the President set April 12 as a goal.
quote:

do you need him to tell you what to take seriously?
And we're back to the traditional Trump defense of "The things that the president says don't really matter. Who pays attention to that anyway?" (Except when he says something that later actually happens or works out well, in which case he was totally serious).

A few things he could have done differently:
1. Not sent his son-in-law in front of cameras to hype a website that had to be rewritten to cover his arse.

2. Not made false claims about the availability of testing.

3. Not been naive enough to claim that the government of communist China was being transparent.

4. Not used the word "hoax" in any context around a virus that has now killed over 110,000 Americans alone.

5. Actually practiced the things he's asked other people to do, like wearing a mask and practicing basic social distancing.

I could go on, but this is beating a dead horse as is.

Within the context of what he was talking about...He was referring to Democrats blaming him as "a hoax".

Shitty wording, yes. But no one's ever called him a wordsmith.

Just went to the grocery store, and it happened again.

This time it was an elder couple, probably in their 70's or 80's. Old man standing literally less than 2 feet behind me with a mask on.

Or, let's say that all these people improperly wearing makeshift cloth masks that rarely/never get sterilized and are basically portable petri dishes and touching their face area an additional 200 times a day while they take it on/off and adjust it might actually be doing themselves more harm than good.

See how easy that is to pull something out of your butt and state it as fact when there are not factual studies upon which to base your conclusions.
