Yes this is a nerd thread but which do you prefer?

When I was younger I was all about Star Wars but as I've grown older I appreciate Star Trek more and more.

I'm kind of depressed with the two to be honest, the newest iterations have been terrible.

Even ''Alien'' has been a bit of a drag.

I have never liked Alien but I also don't care for Horror movies so that's probably why...but if we're naming other Sci-Fi, Babylon 5 needs a quality reboot.

Trek, obviously.

Wars is cool too, don't get me wrong, but to actually believe it's superior to Trek you'd have to be a mouth-breathing retard.

This is natural.
And shows that any adult who still prefers Star Wars never grew up and is still mentally a child.

Star Trek easily. Star Wars has become liberal progressive science project.

They've both had some swings and misses but on the whole Star Trek puts out a better product. I really enjoy the Clone Wars animated series, but it doesn't quite reach the same level as DS9 for example. The valleys seem to be deeper for Star Wars as well, when Trek is bad its bad, but when Star Wars is bad its horrible.

Star Trek by a light year. ST is far more observant of science than is Star Wars. SW is more of a fantasy story. I think that's why it appeals to kids more.

I love both but I'm more nostalgic for Star Wars so that's my answer

Star Trek has been blatantly liberal and progressive since its inception. They live in a society without money

Ah hell yes, Blade Runner. Loved the original, just saw the new one this week...it sucked.

Personally I liked them both. It has a different, very long-drawn pacing that I understand people can't get behind. However, I really like that they're touching (and touched) on a topic that hits a lot closer to home and that we will encounter a lot sooner than space travel/intergalatic conflicts.

What our relationship with AI will be.

I definitely like the ambient of both, however.

Did you watch Star Trek: Discovery? I personally couldn't get by the first episode.

Star Wars is fun to follow while Star Trek is better written.

Agree. From the outside ST is better than SW. SW is an epic tale that is rooted in the classic good vs evil plot line with predictable outcomes. ST is an exploration into the unknown in an effort to prolong humanity with plenty of twists and turns along the way.

With all that said, I would still rather watch SW (except episodes 1-3) over ST.
