Pulling an HRV and going off-topic, but I was listening to Bob and Tom on the way in to work and they replayed this old Tim Wilson bit. I like to picture the Bama posters speaking that way.

When making a statement that is a complete thought, one should end one’s sentence with an exclamation mark, a period, or a period followed by a quotation mark, never a question mark.
Unless you’re just questioning your own sanity, I guess.
I’m letting you off with a warning, but next time it’ll be a $40,000 ticket and revocation of your driver’s license, with jail time up to 12 months or 6 years of community service.
Have a nice day, and post safely.

I never thought I sounded southern until I traveled to Wisconsin for work and they picked my accent out down to the region (central Alabama) lol.

Everyone in Alabama thought I was from places with more neutral accents; everyone from outside the South always said they loved my Southern accent.
Sadly it's faded over time (living in Atlanta, then Oklahoma, and then Virginia the last 12 years) so it only comes out for certain words now.
But yeah; my wife is from upstate New York and she would tell me she has always loved my Southern accent and I would joke about asking her to walk around with me to convince people in Alabama I actually had one

There’s a southern accent where I come from
The young’ns call it country, the Yankees call it dumb
I got my own way of talking but everything is done

I fixed it. I can't afford those fines.

When I was in Montreal people there would ask me if I was from Ontario. Yankees I have talked with always ask me about my southern accent.
I now respond with , "I'm from Ontario."

I’ve always imagined LA-MS-AL posters as Finebaum callers.

They are still pretty good, although a few of their regulars have died off. RIP Donnie Baker

I don't have an accent, everyone else does.

So hard to believe that Tim Wilson has been gone for over a decade, now. RIP.

He makes me want to join a church just to play softball.

He was such a uniquely funny performer.
CSB-time:
Up until the time of his death, Tim lived somewhere within a mile or so radius of my neighborhood, and I would see him out & about occasionally. I never went “fanboy” and never tried to initiate any contact or conversation.
However, one time I was out walking my dog and we happened to be approaching each other from opposite directions on the sidewalk. As we passed each other, he gave just a “hey, how ‘ya do’in” and head nod that congenial strangers in the South often do when passing a random neighbor.
I replied: “Where the frick is My Jet-Pack?”
He chortled, burst into a smile, shook his head and said “That’s EXACTLY what I’ve been say’in!”, and we just kept on walking in opposite directions without another word spoken.
