Ugghh. I hate "studies" like this. SC and MS may well be "the worst SEC states to make a living", for those settling for shitty jobs with no education.

It is a largely rural state where people aren't bothered, there are beaches and gambling, there are plenty of activities for people who love the outdoors and the cost of living is non-existent. If you like college football, there are 3 FBS programs for you to enjoy, and it's a short drive to plenty of cities in Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida.

My commute is 14 miles along the beach. Takes me less than half an hour.
Rent is cheap, houses are cheap, and public schools are decent enough.

Sc maybe cheap but where I live in the north myrtle beach area it's expensive to live. Also in Charleston it's on new York and LA level
