Haha if they could have gotten in UGA or Emory chances are they wouldn't be at GSU in the first place

Knowing what I know of Emory people, you couldn't pay me to go there. I have literally never heard a positive word about any of their graduate or professional programs. Everyone there is miserable. I think people end up going because they are ranked highly and have a strong reputation all along the East coast, but most come to regret that decision.

I was well balanced with GPA, sports, and rec's but didn't have the SAT score to match. I guess UVA weights that higher.

This is what did me in as well with UVa. After getting accepted to Vandy, 18 year old Virgil thought he was a shoe-in at UVa...

Don't regret my experiences at all, glad I ended up at UA.

ETA: To the UGA fan...GSU is fun if you are laid back. We have a few psycho type A gunners, but not many. If you are one of these people you will do better at UGA or Emory.

I attended GSU my freshman year before I transferred out to UGA so I'm familiar with what goes on there.

Haven't been back in years but apparently the school's changed some as far as the campus.

Emory has a certain demographic very similar to Tulane. It's a good school, just has a northeastern feel in Atl.

I got accepted into LSU, Nicholls St., SU and OU out of high school. Rice turned me down. I was a slacker through my hs years. Went to LSU for a bit then joined the Navy.
Got accepted into UF (Ag Eng) after going to a juco after my navy days. Still mulling over the decision as I'm typing this.

The private schools I'm talking about aren't the Vandys or Rices of the world. I'm talking about schools in Texas like TCU, Baylol, and Trinity.

Undergrad
Accepted:
GCSU
LSU

Denied:
UGA

Grad
Accepted:
UGA

Denied:
Nowhere

Screwed around in high school to where I had everything but the gpa for UGA so I went to GCSU for two years then transferred. LSU offered me a small scholarship, but even with that there was just no way to afford the out-of-state tuition.

There's always part of me that wishes I would have had my freshman days at Georgia, but had I not taken the path I did I don't know that I would've ended up in the same academic course I did. Being that I'm good with where I am now I reckon it worked out.

All of the top schools in each country - or each state - are private schools.

Even the private schools that aren't elite, generally have a much better student-to-teacher ratio, among many other factors. And for many, there's also a religious factor for certain schools.

Lmao, Rice is a great school but the other Texas private schools can't match Texas or Texas A&M. Try again.

I would bet you that Texas and Texas A&M have some of the worst, if not THE worst, student-to-teacher ratios in the state of Texas

Damn, you went all out. Why apply to some the UTSAs and San Jose States?? Obviously you knew you were gonna get into some of those others.
