There is no way in hell any BBQ in Birmingham is better than Franklin's or LA Barbecue in Austin. Not saying either of those are the best in the nation, but they are damn sure better than anything in Alabama.

There are so many different kinds of BBQ, who knows? People have different tastes in BBQ. Best I have ever had was in Georgia.

Go to Austin and try one of those and then you can say this kind of thing to me. They are both that good.

Is it pork or beef? If it's beef, then by default they can't be the best.

She has obviously never been to Holcomb, Missouri. Sounds like this Saws joint is pretty solid, but it would take some pretty good Q to convince me it is better than a Strawberry's Midtown pork steak.

Why would anyone care about the opinion of a racist fat old hag that feels the need to greatly over exaggerate her accent to make herself sound even more stupid and practically spoon feed her already obese audience even more artery clogging slop?

Ahh that's not an exaggerated accent. That's how she fricking talks. Paula Deen is from Albany. She's a capitalist just like anyone. She's many things, but she isn't fake.

I live a few blocks from Saw's. Great BBQ but the customer service is atrocious. Its kind of taboo to say anything bad about them at the moment despite the shitty service. I really like it but its not worth waiting in line for 20 minutes just to place an order with a cashier that has an attitude. Then you have to wait 10-15 more minutes to get your food. Don't think it would kill them to get a second cash register. No telling how much money Wilson leaves on the table because people drive by and say "screw that" when they see the line.

Its basically the Soup Nazi of Homewood.

Pork steak. Yes, pork steak. BBQ isn't just stringy pulled pork and overcooked baby backs. I know it sounds funny but anyone who has had a Strawberry's pork steak knows what I mean.

I have enjoyed Strawberry's a couple of times (takeout) and I use their rub from time to time but I haven't tried their pork steak. Next time I'm in Hayti I will hop over and try it.

Everyone thinks their regions BBQ is the best. I like well smoked pork ribs with a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. Smoked brisket with no sauce is also very good.Brickpit in Mobile is my favorite in Alabama.
