I respect your opinion as well but That was more of an income issue imo. I had a similar issue when I went to get my cdl license. I had friends that were able to get there's through special programs. Mine ended up costing me $4400. Long story short too much income.

Just wanted to point out that Old Sarge hasnt been bitching about this political thread and repeatedly RAing it. Just another example that he isnt serious about keeping this board free of political threads. Just cherry picking the ones he doesnt like.

OK. Here's comes ol' 'Sturm to put a TLDR in a thread silked by spiders...
I posted this on a TOW-TALLY unrelated place tonight (and I was just itchin' to post it here, so here goes...)
Drank a few beer and penned a little pseudo-essay on White Guilt tonight:
Guilt.
According to Wikipedia Guilt is "a cognitive or emotional experience that occurs when a person realizes or believes—accurately or not—that he or she has compromised his or her own standards of conduct or has violated a moral standard and bears significant responsibility for that violation. It is closely related to the concept of remorse."
Being and having been conceived and born white, American, of and to relatively well adjusted Christian parents, and with some inherent financial support, is not, nor has it ever been, a compromise of my own standards of conduct. I dare say that my having been conceived white in America to Christian parents who worked toward maintaining a savings account is in no way compromising to anyone's standards of conduct.
My having been born a white American of middle class Christian parents does not violate any of my moral standards.
In fact I do not bear any significant (nor insignificant) responsibility for ANY of it.
Moreover do I not consider my being to be in violation of ANYTHING.
Finally I can certainly aver that my own feelings regarding my own being are not related to any concept of remorse, closely nor otherwise.
HERE TO FORE: I do NOT feel guilt for being a white American. MOREOVER: anyone who does is a proven moron.
Including smart arse Hillary.
(And The Reverend Dr. Theodorus Johnson, by extent of inclusion?)

Was someone trying to say you should be guilty of your ethnicity? I don't get it

Sadly, it's a common phenomenon among white SJW liberals.

No. No one said this. But it was a legitimate response to the OP nonetheless. For blacks to receive 5/3 of a vote would itself require a vote. Democratic due process. A vote in Congress at a minimum and almost certainly a Constitutional Amendment. A majority would have to win this vote. Last I checked the majority of Congress is white. The majorities of most Representatives' constituencies are white. The passing of the resolution [hypothetically] in question would require a butt load of white votes. For anyone to vote to give someone besides himself MORE votes would require a measure of lunacy on par with [the causes, effects, and nature of] "White Guilt".
I was attempting to [finish Beer 7] and nip this White Guilt shite in the bud. Kill the white guilt and then we can stop considering going completely dumb.
This is until we [inevitably] come up with the next great stupidity.

A black person wrote the article, though. Pretty sure it was clickbait, too. I have never met a black person who thinks like this. The mere suggestion is utter folly and I think it validates such cretins to take them seriously.
There are always going to be dumb people.

That's because you were homeschooled with a father that, if not necessarily a conservative, is still a stickler for education and self-reliance. Go to the ghetto and you'll find them.

Classic pseudo-Christian behavior.

If you're saying that it's almost certainly satire then I agree. I am not one of the "dumb cretins" who read Johnathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal" and vomited.
I propose that "White Guilt" is THE central theme to this dude's "proposal". Were it not for "white guilt" this writer could never have conceived the idea, let alone imagined it to be publishable.

My dad served as president of the Republican Club in B/CS for years. He's definitely a staunch conservative

And most of my extended family on both my mother's and father's sides live in and are from the "ghetto." I may not have lived it (thank God), but I've been to the projects many a time because of family.
