This.

It's really really narrow as to the companies that it covers. My fiance is a lawyer and more liberal than myself and she wasn't bothered by the ruling at all. That tells me any outrage is outrage for the sake of outrage.

In fact, the only states that allow abortion at six months or later are Massachusetts, Nevada, and Florida... unless the life of the mother is in danger.

Missing the point, the child is only a child if the mother wants the child, does not matter if the father wants the child and will take full responsibility and absolve the mother, by law the father has no rights even though he provided the sperm........... until it's born, now he's responsible.

If we judged parental readiness by how people post on this board, there would be several childless couples.

Since 1980 there have been 1,340,076,349 abortions worldwide. The earth's human population today is 7,243,932,326.

Our planet can support approximately 9-10 billion people before resources become so strained that societies begin to break up. If abortions were not performed, we would already be at our population limit. Our steady increase in numbers will get us past the limit within the next 20 years anyway.

Already, approximately 2 billion people are starving or malnourished. It will only get worse. We need more abortions, sterilizations and birth control, not less.

It's simply cruel to want more births when there are not enough resources to adequately provide for those already born.

Well, never looked at it from that perspective, withhold all food and medicine from 3rd world countries, load up the B1's and send them to the Middle East, fire up the electric chairs and get rid of death row, place land mines and 50 cal machine guns on the border, (solves immigration issue) sterilize all with a IQ less than 120, (75% of Ranters) just a start but I see what you're saying.

Wow, sounds like something the Nazis would have done. I hope your version of the world never comes to fruition.

Sorry, but I'm not a simple minded retard who falls for DARE ad campaigns. Thank you for letting the board know you are one of those people.

Even if someone wanted to do this, anyone with half a brain would know a project of this magnitude and scope is simply unfeasible.

Actually, you don't see at all. You completely ignored the population numbers. Your sarcasm, while pointless, is noted.

We're seeing the beginning, in Africa especially, of extreme starvation and lawless nations. That continent has one billion people in 2014 but that will balloon to 2.3 billion by 2050. It's an example of what we'll be seeing worldwide within a few decades.

The hot political debate currently is about climate change but it's the continuing population explosion that we should be worrying about. It's at the root of every single problem we are facing as a species.

The conservatives plan, taken to it's logical conclusion.

I'm fairly certain that a living breathing adult's life is far more important than something that has never taken a breath.

Not to mention that if the mother dies, the unborn being also likely dies.

Not 100%, there are known cases of botched abortions. Some of them have amazing life stories.

I'm not going to argue against this, but it's largely irrelevant given that less than 1% of all legal abortions are because of a legitimate threat to the mother's health. Some use things like pre-existing hypertension or diabetes to raise that number to around 5%, but the reality is that the risk to prospective mother's with those conditions is so low that it is intellectually dishonest to do so.

It's equivalent to the arguments regarding rape and incest. Both are legitimate questions that are largely irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Over 85% of abortions are purely for convenience, which I find to be a very troubling and uncomfortable reality.
