Wtf is that?
That is a 8" Floppy disk.. Very floppy too.. There were 12" ones as well.
If I remember well, the 8" could store 80kb of data.

Then the world was changed when the 3.5" floppy was designed. It was a hard cover which reduced the "bendage" that destroyed the data and could hold 1.44mb of data which was like, . . . awesome. :dude"
Yes, 80kb....
I am a EET by trade (though I dont do that anymore). When I graduated college, my first job was for a major Japanese electronics company. I remember spending half a day during my first month or so on the job, changing the hard drive on my desktop, 286, from 20mb to 40mb. It was the best thing ever. Oh the shite I could now store on my HDD
Now I think there are 2TB flash drives? The military probably did not have 2Tb of storage capability back in 1985. Now a kid has that on his Xbox.

I have a 1TB flash drive on my key chain. It looks like the little receiver for a wireless mouse.

fricking punchcards... I have two unpleasant memories of those things
1. In 2nd grade our class would always lose the paper sale competition because another teachers husband worked for IBM and she'd bring in crates of the motherfrickers.
2. At auburn working on a fortran program all night in the computer center and dropped the deck. Cards out of order...job wouldnt run!

it is pretty weird how movie rental stores, and music CD stores for the most part have gone extinct.
Game stores are next on the chopping block
