The ranking is on people moving to the state legally.

Unfortunately I believe it. LA is in baaaad shape.

I do not believe Florida is that high and Texas is that low though.

I could move to some parts of 3, 10, 12,or 15 and be OK. I would have to own a LOT of the Dakotas or Wyoming to be happy.

My folks had a place in Manchester, Vermont. Hell naw. Pretty place, full of douche people who assume they are more intelligent than you because of the accent. No Miss, you don't understand economics/politics more than I. Please just take my order

Sorry but I’d much rather live in any of the SEC states than Iowa. There ain’t shite to do there.

Don't you put that evil on us. It's bad enough that Memphis already bleeds into NEA.

If Oklahoma is not 50th, the list is BS.

Worst state in the Union, and it is not even close.

Quality of life is tracked... oddly.

quote:

This new ranking tracks states' air quality, pollution, voter participation, social support and more.

Voter participation especially - in solid red or blue states, one would think voter participation would be lower. I'm not sure members of either side one classify that as a lower "quality of life" than those in swing states.

Also, I live in the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia, and we have no noticeable pollution out this way.

Also, Iowa is #1. WTF kind of sick list is this?

It's a state full of happy, friendly, healthy people, who all save for their retirement, and there's hardly any crime. Oh, and loose meat sandwiches if you like that sort of thing.

People who bash Iowa generally haven't ever been there.

Disagree. I have spent plenty of time there. It's not a top half of the US state, but it is far from last.

You don't have to believe it....I hope nobody believes it. It's the best-kept secret out there.

If Mississippi could draw a line from Tunica, to Jackson, to Vicksburg, and give everything west of that to Arkansas/Louisiana, it would be perfect.

Lived there for a year. Depressing, dead, broke, corrupt, smelly. It has no redeeming qualities other than "cheap".

Came very close to getting a job out that way, but had already accepted a position where I was living. They wanted to fly my wife and I out to Cedar Rapids, take us on a week long tour of the city, etc. A part of me still wishes I had not taken the other job, but oh well.
