They have been since the first second. It was just immaculate defense by USA. They couldn't keep it up forever.

By large the US has played very solid defense in the box. Had one that got by them unfortunately, but with as many shots as Germany has gotten on goal they've done well enough.

I don't. Trying to say that Germany didn't try to win in the first half was laughable when they had wide open shots like 5 different times, only to have them pass it or kick it out of bounds. This could be 5-0 if Germany wanted it to be

I can think of a couple times it was deflected out at the last second by Gonzalez. I can assure you they weren't dribbling down in there then passing it back out to avoid scoring.
