So far, other than the diagnosis, everything else has been good news (<2cm, grade 1, ER and PR+, Etc.) but if y’all could pray...

Do you know which stage it’s at?

No sign of lymphatic or vascular invasion, but it could be 1A or 1B. That’s what I was told. I don’t really know what the 1A or 1B means though

Most likely this means that the tumor in her breast is 2 centimeters or smaller and that the cancer has not spread. If this is the case, it’s extremely good news.

I have a friend who had a similar cancer and she is now cancer free. The tumor was excised and she underwent radiation. That was more than a decade ago and she remains in good health.

I hope this gives you some encouragement.

You got it, brother.

That’s a tough diagnosis to hear, but it sounds like they caught it early.

My wife was diagnosed with this recently; it means they caught about as early as possible and your Mom is in the best possible position to be in.

My mom found a lump in August 2013, was diagnosed with invasive ductile carcinoma in October. They put her on Letrazole immediately and she had surgery in July 2014.

Thankfully she has been clear since and was even able to come off the Letrazole this past fall.

Praying your mom's journey is similar and the outcome is as good.

Cancer is always tough and always scary.

If things start to get to you that is perfectly normal. We will always be here to talk to you and help as much as we can.

I have faith your mom is going to kick this cancer's arse up and down the street.

My SIL was diagnosed in October and had a lumpectomy last month. Although her post op pathology reports were good, she found out last week that she will have to have chemo. Her overall prognosis is still good. Keeping everyone in my prayers.

That is encouraging. My mother is a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed in late 2012. Stage 2 with the most aggressive form (most aggressive level on a 9 point scale). She had some lymph node involvement.

Doctors put her on aggressive chemo schedule which shrunk her tumor which they then surgical removed after chemo. She had a few weeks of radiation after that and had been in remission for about 7 years.

She got a jaw abscess/infection during chemo that doctors were able to fix.

Breast cancer treatment has come a long way. She's in good hands.

My SIL was diagnosed in the fall and had a lumpectomy in January. Her prognosis is pretty good although she is disappointed in that she's having to have chemo. Her first treatment is today. I also have a friend who is having a double mastectomy today as I type.

Update: at surgery, they determined the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes. She will likely not need chemotherapy and instead will have hormone therapy. The prognosis is very good.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
