What law did he break?

Don't let the libs bother you. Conservatives are a huge minority in the US anymore. There is no common sense in this country anymore.

But to be fair, every President since Kennedy has skirted the law to push their agenda. Probably haven't had a truly honest respectful President since Lincoln.

Who would stop him? Of course it is unconstitutional but who would enforce that? Eric Holder? Right.
Holder does what he pleases.
The law states that Congress had to be notified 30 days before a release of Guantanamo prisoners. They basically said up yours on that one.

A federal statute states that the secretary of Defense must notify Congress 30 days before any transfer of prisoners from Guantánamo Bay. The law allows Congress to have a say on whether the detainees could be a threat to national security.

Obama signed the law and added a signing statement that basically said "I'll sign this but Frick you I do what I want." Not unusual for Presidents in the past couple of decades, but still not something I like

Interesting. I didn't know about that. I see Hagel is claiming that Article II made the exchange operation/release legal. We'll see how it plays.

That said I still have no doubts about the OP's topic. I'll ban bet it and bookmark it and whatever. No way in hell this happens and this thread is really really dumb.

Yep, he can just issue another executive order negating the Constitution, no problem.

There's nothing which applies to this situation directly in Article 2. It's basically an argument that says "President does what he wants about war and stuff."

Yea, I mean it is an interesting issue. It does seem like they broke the law and the Article 2 argument is bullshite. I'd imagine he could be impeached for that but it's a different issue entirely.

Then you don't count, but antibarner is a cautionary tale of what conservative and brain damage can do mixed together.

He is doing just about anything he wants now. And the so called attorney general only enforces laws he likes. He did nothing about Benghazi except spin to cover it up. He has sicced the IRS on his enemies.

Hillary C fricked that up she didn't take responsibility for it as she should have. Obama got sucked into following the British on a revenge mission killing Khadifi.

GWB started two losing wars and bankrupted the economy.

He and his minions looked the other way while the VA was being run into the ground. He has usurped the health care system and probably brought it to ruin.
quote:

Seriously the VA has been fricked up since day one and theirs enough blame to hang every federal politician in the country.

His agencies send armed thugs after citizens, all the while trying his best to disarm us.

Really GWB created the blunderbuss of Homeland security and expanded the spy laws...

Now he is just totally ignoring immigration laws and he is destroying the coal industry in this country.

Immigration has been ignored since 1962 nobody will touch it political suicide.

All the while driving up energy costs for us. The economy is now shrinking and in reality probably has been for some time, the books are cooked.

Both sides pay K-street been going on for ever...

And no one tries do do anything about it. Who is going to stop him if he wants four more years?

He wont run agai, but I would agree a single six year term is better than two four year stints times have changed.
