Lets talk about beer

I'm starting to expand my tastes in beers and have been experimenting and found a few that I really like. I'm drinking a Rouge Dead Guy Ale right now and it's okay. Will probably pass it up to try something else next time.
What are some of your favorites? Bud light, Coors and such don't count.

Several Colorado breweries provide some excellent fare. I would name some of them but if you haven't been here it will probably sound like I'm not making any sense.

Isn't Great Divide from that area? I've had a few of those and liked them all. Solid quality beer.

Boulder? No shite, I have a brother in boulder, love the beer round there..

IPA's? I havent had many and a few have been a bit strong but theyre growing on me. I'm told theyre an acquired taste.

There's some FANTASTIC beers here, but elsewhere too. Fort Collins has a great brewery with some of my favorite beers.

I like almost anything,
What are you looking for? IPA, Stout, etc. there are so many different microbrews now I rarely drink the same thing more than a few times unless I am just swinging by a gas station.

If you're going that route, start with IPA's that have lower IBU's. The higher the IBU, the more bitter the beer.

I was this way, too, but I find some IPAs delicious. I hear "hops" and am immediately turned off, but there's a lot of ways that hops can add to a good beer. I don't want my tastebuds assaulted with bitterness, but a good IPA is extremely refreshing.

Colorado and California are amazing for beer. So is Michigan.

Oh, Michigan IS great. I was there for a month or so a few years ago. Never been to California, however.
I didn't acquire a taste for beer until I moved to Colorado, but a friend who is from Alaska, lived here for a while, and now lives in Knoxville swears that they have some fantastic microbrews. I don't know if that's true because I never sought them out.

Then you're missing out on all of the really good stouts. Try them in the dead of winter, if it gets cold enough there. They're amazing then...

It is true, microbrews are popping up all over the place. Louisiana and Alabama both have gotten good local beer recently

I haven't had one that I dislike, but I haven't found one that I really like. I haven't tried too many- I think beer just isn't my thing.

In the winter I'm a bourbon drinker. Wild Turkey 101, Makers, and Woodford.
